Yeah mate the others are just harmless bronze sharks. Watching from above, they actually go out of their way to avoid the snorkelers more than the hammers do.
The large bay area on the souther side is where all of this footage came from🤙. Most of that area is quite shallow which makes it easy to spot the sharks, rays, dolphins, and seals with a drone.
Awesome footage! I'd love to try making a video like that but the most I've ever come across in my area was a couple of wobbegongs and a Port Jackson shark :(
Cheers mate! Yeah theres always plenty of ppl snorkelling around looking for them once word gets out that they are in the area again, would be an awesome experience!
Fair enough mate, personally I liked the track and felt it was a clever take on the classic “jaws” theme, it has a nice dramatic and almost upbeat vibe thanks to the use of various percussive instruments used by the tracks creator. I 100% agree these magnificent creatures are not a threat, and I do not believe I have portrayed them in such a manner. Having watched them from above over multiple years now, they always avoid human interaction when there are divers and snorkelers in the water, the hammers are very shy.
@@john-daws I want to see them myself. Is there a period or a time of the day, or a particular condition when it's more likely to find them in Point Peron?
With a drone, your best bet is early morning, because as the day goes on the glare from the sun becomes a problem and makes it harder to see things, even with a cpl filter on the camera. You need days with low wind and low wave height for best results, ideally wave height under .5m and winds under 15kph. The sharks behaviour is unpredictable, sometimes they are there and sometimes not, you need to be persistent and patient to get the best photo/video of them.
Heading out tomorrow! Planning on seeing a hammer head! Yay!!
Good luck!, although you might be a bit early in the season for them, the hammerheads usually start to appear in the area during December.
@@john-daws damn!!! We will try our luck but happy to head out in dec… do you know the right spot?
All of this footage was shot on the southern side of point peron, thats where I’ve had the most luck.
The hammerhead maybe not quite threatening but that other type shark in the video might. Was that bronzie?

Soundtrack is grate, how do u get round copyright...
Cheers mate, the track is actually from epidemic sound so I don’t have copyright dramas👍🏻
Don’t suppose you’d tell which part of Point Peron is the best place to start looking for them? Southern side, northern side? 🦭

how far offshore was this
Most of this footage was from a few days when they had come in closer than normal, it was only about 400m from the shore.
Fantastic video.
Cheers!, It’s awesome watching these amazing creatures from the air with a drone, I could do it all day!

I subscribed too!
Thanks mate, and thanks for subscribing, massively appreciated!
What time was time?
@@situationing ?
I have been snorkeling at point persona long time and only seen 1 shark
The sharks aren’t always at point peron, it’s only for a few months of the year that the young ones hang around in the area.
What time was that?
On both days I was there from around 6:30am, and the sharks would start to thin out around 9am. By 10am most of them had gone from the area.
What was the other shark not the hammerheads
A Bronze Whaler, they are very common in the area as well.
So good. Went snorkelling with them a while ago
Cheers mate! Yeah theres always plenty of ppl snorkelling around looking for them once word gets out that they are in the area again, would be an awesome experience!
@@john-daws hi mate what season they usually be there? thanks!
They appear during summer mate, and usually only hang around for a few months.
@@john-daws thanks a lot, so they probably not around now?
@@john-daws got a better chance early in the morning ?
good video, however I don't feel like the creepy Jaws music suits it, these creatures are not a threat

@@john-daws thank you for the advice 👍🏻👍🏻
I am so glad I didn't have boys
Haha, there were probably just as many girls out there looking for the hammers as there were guys on this particular weekend.
