  • Do you want to know how to frame your jigsaw puzzle in 5 minutes with no glue DIY.
    ***The trick to this working is the pressure between the back and the front, this is what is holding the puzzle together. If you are using a thinner puzzle or a thicker frame, try adding some more backing to keep the pressure of the puzzle onto the glass.

      What size frame do you use to frame a 500 piece puzzle

    • @NixPix

      sorry just saw this I don't have any on me right now but all puzzles should have the size on the box sometimes its small and in ( ) check the back too

      How to frame on an wooden frame in my case a large pieces in 48 x 20 cm

    • @NixPix
      @NixPix  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ViperStrike do you put the puzzle together on something other than just the table? If the frame is the same size as the puzzle than the above principle should still work just keep the pressure between the back of the frame and the front. Hope that helps.

      @@NixPix thx I finished the 1000 pieces puzzle last year, but the upper corner of the frame broke a little bit. I should not do the trick as before and find another way out to insert the puzzle without mashing the pieces and overlaying the texture.

    Great idea building the puzzle on the paper from the frame. I start with the edge pieces first too. Here’s an additional tip. When done with the puzzle roll it from all four sides to the center with a rolling pin. It seats all the pieces together and gets rid of the spaces between the puzzle pieces.

    Just completed first puzzle in decades! Home from hospital for Covid. So needed something to do to bide my time. I was dreading taking it apart but didn’t want to put glue on it and not ever have others enjoy putting it together someday. I might look into this! I like the idea you mentioned in a reply of putting it on a mat and then framing it, only because I too wonder if the edge pieces won’t get depressed line from frame over time. Btw, I’m not an edge first puzzler but I do set them aside if I’m not sure where they go. I spent hours separating pieces into piles that I believed would make up a section of the puzzle. It wasn’t until a week later that I built it because I was so tired from all the separating! 😆 Thanks for your video.

      First I am so sorry that you had to deal with Covid nice to hear your home I wish you a full recovery. I stretched the side of the poster frame pieces just by run it my finger down them so they don’t pinch as much. Happy puzzling 😊

      Hi did you just buy a poster frame to do this what was the plastic bit you were peeling off and sticking down i have a 500 piece i want to frame but there is not an exact size for it

    • @NixPix
      @NixPix  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      April Victoria Durnin Yes that is a poster frame the film that you saw me peeling off was just a protective cover on top of the frame there is actually nothing sticking the puzzle together the only thing that’s holding it together is the pressure from the back of the poster frame in the front of the poster frame I have yet to figure out a way to do it where I don’t have the frame being the same way but I’m working on it.
      I had the thought if you could use a picture Matt to fit around the puzzle and then fit it into a frame.

    • @NixPix
      @NixPix  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ll be completely honest with you this was the first time or the second time that I had actually done this and it was because it was the same size as the puzzle that I was doing and I didn’t have a Disney video to put up so I just put this video up I never ever expected to go as far as it has it’s kind of exciting

  • @3k2p6
    @3k2p6 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    This only works for small puzzles like that one. If it's big, middle pieces could fall. Before framing the puzzle, just flip it and use the same tape you used at the end of the video to secure the pieces. Then flip it back and frame it like you did. It's better and also without glue, as tape is easily removable.

    • @NixPix
      @NixPix  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good tip! I can see because the bigger the puzzle smaller the pieces and they don't lock as well. I thought of using pictures frames from good will and putting extra backing to keep it pushed against the glass.

    I'm assisting a young man who just discovered his love for puzzles. Nice technique, but what do you think about clearcoat gluing before covering puzzle with the frame's clear plastic? For a permanent application, I'd worry about the puzzle becoming undone.

So I must go to pictureframes.com . That size frame is on back order for weeks. So I have step up and pay more than I expected. This comes as unassembled kit. I don't know if it has a thin clear sheet. To keep the puzzle intact.

I have not framed anything other than this size as I am in the middle of doing the collection but I believe the key is keeping the pressure on the back of the puzzle pushing it into the glass/plastic front part of the frame good luck hope it all works out after that.

      Mandi Primeaux54 yes that makes since I have a note in the comments about the puzzle being to thin and adding pressure to it but unless you are able to tape the frame back to the actual frame it could work just needs enough pressure to hold the frame in place ( haven’t tried another frame yet these work perfect for the puzzles I’m working on now) thanks for asking love the interaction.

      So as soon as Michaels got rid of their forty % off coupon I started buying them at Walmart for 6$ and haven't had a problem you say a matte finish ( did you make sure to peel the protective cover off) I did that once LOL. with the ones that are sagging can you put extra cardboard or paper on the bag to keep the pressure on the front of the poster frame. Thanks for commenting look forward to hear how it worked out.

    • @HDLowrider03
      @HDLowrider03 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NixPix Yeah, we are buying frames that are a little bit bigger, just to not eliminate any edge detail, you know, to show the whole puzzle. But I like how your's turned out. So, using a little bigger frame, created a white matte finish from the white paper (you know, the same sheet that you flip over and use) and since the frame is bigger, gravity wins. We had bought a poster frame, used cardboard to create a matte, and framed into that cutout the Disney 2-sided Up puzzle. We flip it when we want to see young or old Carl & Ellie.
