He interests and enjoys Tari Saman/Salman, of Iran. So Acheh Sumatra people came from Iran/Caucasus Mountain many centuris ago. They came to Acheh Sumatra in Perlak, the small thoun in Pidie Acheh. Beside that you also can enjoy "Tari Sedati", also came from Iran/Caucasus mountaint.

I'm indonesian living in aboard, and i can tell you that indonesia was huge populated country and put their tagline in this asian games "energy of asia", so based on that concept the producer of this opening ceremony (Mr. Wishnutama) want to put together that indonesia have, and there is a lot of tribes, a lot of traditional songs and dance as well, and also the stage was picturized the whole lanscape including volcano, waterfall and even a whole forest made of real trees and in the end was the metrolopitan cities.
The first dancing was amaze me also since i was from different tribe. and the backing sound of this ceremony made everything so energetic and emotional yet so pleasing to watch even until this time I cant move on from his (Mr. Wishnutama) great work in this ceremony.

I know because my daughter was involved as a dancer in the earliest dance, namely the 'saman' from one of the provinces in our country, namely 'aceh' on the northernmost island of Sumatra, Indonesia. We in Indonesia have 17,000 islands, 1,340 tribes, approximately 718 native languages.
