My son and I took a trip over to FL last weekend. They played a bunch of the new guys and it was a thrill to see Jackson Holliday, Joey Ortiz, Coby Mayo, Jordan Westburg, Cesar Prieto, Terrin Vavra, et al.. Got Holliday's autograph on my glove from the mid 70s, adding to those of Jim Palmer and others I can't even make out any more.
Mailbag Question: Is the O's futility more from ownership meddling and leadership (GM/Ownership/etc...) incompetence, or lack of payroll spending? The O's payroll averaged #15 in MLB from 2001 - 2018, and # 3 from 1994 - 2000. As a point of comparison, World Series winners from 2002 - 2022 had a payroll ranking of # 15 or lower, 8 times; and World Series losers, 3 times. And the payroll rankings average of World Series Winners & Losers from 2022 - 2002 was: Winners = # 9 & Losers # 13. We are in the ball park of money spent to go to the WS, and our payroll average is comparable to other small to mid market teams.
I have been saying the Birds need to add 2 bonafide hitters in their lineup. There are so many uncertainties on the team but adding 2 hitters in my opinion can help the team from stranding runners on base and win games. #TimeWillTell.
Funny that you said Ryan Flaherty because when you mentioned the question in the intro that's the name that came to my mind too. I thought his swing was beautiful

Nolan reimold and Steve pearce would be answer for favorite "bad" orioles
my favorite moment of spring training is meeting earl weaver.
Flats, Jeff Reboulet, Chito Martinez
Mailbag question when do you realistically see the orioles playing in a World Series?

Flare dog is a legend
Mailbag question was the last season a fluke
If they would only trade for burns sign Bauer its playoff time but the orioles are pretty stupid
Santander is a sell high candidate. And it gives Stowers time in RF.
