Salamat po. I am an American who’s married to a Filipina. This year will be 38 years of marriage and I didn’t even know that this event ever existed😢. Honestly, my wife may not have either🤔. We have our two granddaughters for the Summer, and had I known about this, we would have attended this rather than the San Diego Zoo🤪! The LORD willing, we will attend next year. We live in Southern California.
@@caliwalks Thank you for all you do! Just a small suggestion, if you're taking those. I feel like it would be really cool if you could show people how to get to cool neighborhoods or places in the city by just trains and busses. Like a complete trip report from, say, MacArthur and to Cole Valley, or Chinatown, or Mission Bay. And then walk around the neighborhood to do some cool things or see some pretty views. I think a lot of the new people in the Bay Area (and sadly even some of the longtime residents), just don't know how to "do SF properly". I have friends who keep telling me that we "can't go to Haight Ashbury by train" or "I don't want to go to Chinatown or North Beach because there's never a place to park". We genuinely have a ton of people who are limiting themselves on where they can go just because they don't know how to use the trains and Muni! It's kind of sad, to be honest. No one has ever shown them! They didn't have their grandpa or their aunt show them how to get to the ballpark or "that cute place on Fillmore". They think that they have to drive everywhere.
Thank you for this suggestion! I’ve been meaning to do this actually and I thought of creating a separate channel just for this alone. I created caliwallks because I was inspired by some TH-camrs from the Middle East and Africa who were sort of doing the same thing as caliwalks: just walking, no talking or music; just the natural sound of the town or city. It was so calming.I kind of wanted to be faithful to do that. But there’s a lot to see and do here in S.F. Bay Area and I couldn’t put the format in a box so I started filming SF events. However, even in real life I don’t really talk that much. I feel that I’m putting too much pressure on my throat/vocal cords. If you notice I’d always clear my throat in most of my videos. I don’t think it’s just psychosomatic. I can’t talk for a long time plus I’m not that articulate and extemporaneous lol. Anyways, I’m seriously considering your suggestion. Thanks for caliwalking with me ❤️
I am very glad that Filipinos in California has preserved our Filipino culture inspired by the Spanish colonial time, the dresses our famous Maria Clara has worn , with Filipiniana sleeves in a formal gown always worn by our former only very elegant beautiful First Lady Imelda Marcos, on her special engagement in our country and in other countries abroad , representing his former brilliant President husband Ferdinand E. Marcos as co ambassador of goodwill from the Philippines. Mabuhay (Viva) industrious all Filipino workers the nurses , engineers and hotel and restaurant workers , merchant from the Philippines in California! I have been in California for six months since Dec.2023 to May 2024 and I walked in that streets early morning and in the evening and I like the place so beautiful with plenty of flowers , winery , ranches and big and wide farms. To God be the glory for the many Filipinos who are peace loving, industrious pretty and handsome who are caring for their patients and elderly the Filipino nurses like my daughter and her friends co-nurses from Mindanao big island, Philippines.
So sad I missed out on this...I live in SF! But I'm glad there's a video so thank you. Although I'm so so so confused as to why there are koreans and I love korea shirts. That threw me off! I been to past Pistahans and that was just odd.
how did I miss this? :( . I live in SF. Pls expand your promotion next year to reach more Filipinos living in the bay area and surrounding areas. salamat po!
the US gov't should zllow more skilled Filipinos to the US because Filipinos are law abiding and can easily integrate to the US...and being skilled immigrants could also contribute to the economy of the US and not be a burden to the US
Imagine doing a USA parade in the Philippines, they would not be happy. They usually complain about foreigners there yet they go to all other countries looking for the pera.
I kind of felt gaslighted while watching the parade yesterday lol 😂. Anyways I didn’t mind, they should have advertised the special participation of Korea. I love their culture and food ❤️
@@caliwalks it was just confusing, the I heart Korea shirts made it more confusing. I do love their culture too but i wish the messaging was different - like Koreans hearts Filipinos or something ☺️
