    Great video, I have used both in the gym and underwater and love it, I do love the touch screen aspect underwater. I wear it everyday as I upgraded from the mk1 which was the fenix 5 plus dive computer to this which is the fenix 6 plus dive computer I have to say that the upgrade was definitely worth it and I still only need one watch to do everything I want.

    Try using the 'lock keys' function to avoid pushing the buttons inadvertently ....

    Thank you for a great review. The size is the only thing that is stopping me buying this... it's huge on the wrist!

      You can now get the Mk2s which is smaller but it does not have AI, so same as the Mk2

    Very good point about accidentally pressing the button during fitness. I have an older Garmin and also do that. Watch looks great otherwise. Thanks for the review.

    Good review, thanks. It sure looks huge, I have small wrist too. I will use it for diving only and keep using my Fenix 5X during the day.

    Hi, thanks for the video. I was really surprised by the size, I was expecting something near the Fenix 6 but it is much bigger. I am getting used to it and today I am using it with a suit ;)

  • @FreedivingTrainer

    What about freediving modes? Is wrist HR is accurate?

    • @thehonestdiver
      @thehonestdiver  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Heya! I have no idea about the freediving modes, unfortunately - we don't have any freedivers here at The Honest Diver. I've tested the HR in the gym, it seemed consistent with my other fitness watches so I think it's as accurate as a wrist monitor can be. It's supposed to be able to track underwater HR too, although I'm diving in a drysuit sooo... nowts gonna get through to take a reading under my drysuit! Haha. Perhaps a trip to a warm country is needed, or the chest band under the suit maybe??

  • @allanforsyth2632

    Looks pretty. Expensive though, my thoughts this would put it outside the spending budget of the marjority of divers. Interested in how james likes or dislikes it when he gets to play.

    • @Crazt
      @Crazt 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not really, if you're a regular diver you're probably working out too. If you like using a fitness watch/smart watch unless you're getting hard budget watches and a you' re looking at a reputable diver computer you'll probably spend more for two separate devices.
      This is what I loved about the MK1, I use it as my everyday watch for fitness and what ever else. Sadly I'm not diving enough to justify upgrading to the MK2i. Maybe if my MK1 dies or Garmin comes out with an awesome deal.

    • @jam1053
      @jam1053 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I though the same about the price, but for me is going to be a wrist watch with so many applications out of the water, finally something that I can put in my wrist that can be useful in mountain, sports, sailing and diving, specially for research and exploration, have a GPS to locate the places explored is a bomb... expensive but it have so many features out of diving

  • @fantasydestroyer3221
    @fantasydestroyer3221 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank you so much for your review. Could you tell me if you think that is an actually completely reliable gear i could use for diving? (I know of course that we are supposed to dive with a backup) It is quite expensive and i am not completely sure if it's worth it.

    • @thehonestdiver
      @thehonestdiver  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I'd totally trust this dive com :D If you think you'll use all the other features to their fullest (like the sports side of the watch and the navigation stuff etc) it's well worth the money!
      If I was only doing recreational dives, I'd feel super comfortable diving this with no backup. If I was doing tec/CCR dives then I'd want a backup - but I guess that's pretty standard when it comes to more hardcore diving!

    • @TJordanWDE
      @TJordanWDE 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Absolutely! I have been using the mk1 for well over a year with 0 issues (0 issues driving. The altimeter could still use some work) Mk2i coming home soon. Have a watch "collection" of about 10 different watches ( Tissot, Invicta, etc...) that haven't been out of the case since I got the mk1. It's a real go anywhere / do anything watch - and the mk2 is even better!

    • @TJordanWDE
      @TJordanWDE 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      But I would also say always dive with a mechanical spg as well no matter what computer you are using. :)
