    you were right lego city these days getting simpler and pricier. the old 6-12 and 7-12 city sets are the best. lots of play features yet still looks good.

    Might sound stupid but I love waking up to see your videos in my sub box. Always a treat! As a broke college student who can't afford much LEGO, it's nice to be able to keep up like this, makes me feel like I'm not missing out too much. Reminds me of my days looking at the LEGO magazine every month for hours on end.
    Your personality and just overall niceness is also great to see. The amount of vitriol in the LEGO community lately is weirdly high for a kid's toy, but you keep it focused on what's important: having fun.
    Keep up the great work, I don't interact often on here but I'll always be watching!

    I like this set honestly, there's just something comfy about it. Really like the industrial-styled building and how the vehicles look.

    I didn’t know the play features in this set, especially on the building, we’re going to be that good. My main complaint is I wish the trailer was longer to incorporate the storage space and the ladder 🪜 was closer to the cab. I’m so glad you don’t have to tie string with the hose

    14:10 Just a little thing Jang, and for anyone getting this set, the orange / yellow is hazmat or forest , the black are normal firefighters, and the tan are higher ranked officers.

    The ladder looks very similar to roller coaster track, except for the cross beams in the middle. Do you think it would be compatible with the coaster track?

    • @kevinm5940
      @kevinm5940 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I noticed that too. If that piece was recolored, it could work for micro-scale train tracks.

      It also looks like it can no longer nest into other ladders, which would explain why there is no extension function.

    I definitely echo your opinions, Jang, on the "emptiness" of it and the fire sports car being kind of a huh??? situation. I fully agree with the 5+ nature of this. I believe my 7 year old would enjoy this but I don't think it would be his choice if given money for a Lego set. I welcome the differences in firefighter uniforms and I think the high-vis markings being similar on each figure ties them together. The oxygen tank nougat one looks like he's wearing a heavy fireproof suit that's a little heavier duty than the others. I like the hazmat guy too. I like the number of shooters included in this set, I don't think I have seen so many different shooters in one set before and that seems like a fun play experience when paired with the exceptional fire reset mechanism. In terms of enjoyment, I'm seeing a split between 'kid' sets and 'adult' sets that is stark. A lot of these city sets I can only see being enjoyed by the kid side of the market. I feel that the city sets 1-6 years ago were more in the middle of kid and adult which in my opinion creates a great balance for families because the dads are just as excited for the set as the kids and that creates great bonding moments between parents and kids.

    I feel like LEGO has gone crazy with new parts and colors recently. While the pieces and colors stoke my imagination, I'm not sure it's always a good idea to have so many new pieces, since it removes some of the creativity and .orblem-solving involved in finding new ways to use pre-existing pieces.

    This set has some great stuff in it. The dome parts have potential, maybe for tank cars. The container!! I really like the minifigure parts. Cats? Yes. Engine has potential. Bike is awesome. Set isn't for me especially at the price but I am happy to have the parts available.

    I like that fire car haha Not a big fan of that new yellow brick color though. I like those small stud shooters too. I think they'd be great for a classic space theme with a little modification.

    On the fire car issue, I always liked them when I was a child. I used to have my fire chief drive out to the emergency in his car, along with a fire engine, and he used to "command" the emergency site, use his car to block off road, etc.

    Iv been slowly modding this set, im following a fall out sorta factory as i find it great reference material for a factory thats simple, these city sets and the 22 wave got me super into city, i love it all and am building a my own city thing based around these sets as the modulars are just too big and complex for my own building. Love clemmons and the lego city adventures stuff. Its super whack and i love the show

    The fire car is obviously for Freya McCloud to race Duke Detain. Is there a named main character in Lego City Adventures that's a Doctor or EMT? If so, they need a sports car emergency response vehicle too.

  • @allenthemadman

    The fire car is usually used for the fire chief or any high ranking officer. All they need is a walkie talkie and a fire extinguisher.

  • @Vadahann
    @Vadahann 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I don’t why but that little bit a "cat park" caught my eye way more that it should, somehow my favorite part of this set.
    The main building is good except for those big brick stickers they put on the middle of it.
    I like the car design. That continuous line they have on the side from the front of the hood to the spoiler is nice. But yeah, I agree, fire brigade sport car is a bit out there.
    Don’t like the big truck and it’s trailer. Maybe a shorter one with a little more built trailer would have worked better.

    I like this set
    You can transform it into basically everything you want with the right pieces
    Like for real
    With some blue parts you can make a police car from the fire sorry car,and you can make the sardine factory into a crook hideout

    I know this video was released a while ago, but most fire agencies the chief has a rapid response car, for instance my agencies chief had a dodge charger that was color schemed to match our apparatus, it’s used for them to quickly get to the scene to survey the whole fire and figure out if any additional resources or equipment is needed, before the rest of us get there

    When I was younger I bought city sets and were satisfied. As the years go on realism goes down and down. I like the stytle of the tower truck here but the colors are wrong. On a uniform the bright yellow makes sense but even the sports car is not realistic. When the first Fire Brigade came out (not the modular) I bought it right away already having doubts about the huge water shooter but it was still 10x better then this set.

  • @WizardOfOss
    @WizardOfOss 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Not a bad set, but I feel it would have been so much more interesting when they left out a bunch of stuff and made it a lot cheaper. I mean, just the building (and sauce tank), a fire truck (could be a bit smaller) and a few figs for, say, €50 would have been a great play set. The extra car, the trailer, the bike, and even the container, it's a bunch of pieces that ramp up the price a lot, while not adding much play value.

    The device to put the flame is interesting, but I would prefer something that takes out the flame completely out of view, I guess someone can modify that and take out the whole mechanism out if they want to. The fire car looks like a Ferrari! 😆But I do like the big firetruck, I seem to have liked last year's Fire Brigade set a little more than that, there was more to do in it. Anyway, nice review, Jang!

Jang is a champion of this inclusion (thank you Jang!) and we really appreciate being able to remove helmets and give our Mini-Figures their hair. Please add hairpieces! or sell hairpiece accessory packs:) Nice review, Jang!

    I quite like the new road plates but I do wish they were a better fit for eight stud wide cars. I also wish they were more durable. I bought three sets when they came out and they are already very scratched up from children playing with them. They would be better if they weren’t made of shiny plastic. Of course this doesn’t matter for adults that are more interested in display value.

    The fire truck looks very plain. The water shooter on top is pretty unrealistic. But what's worse, is there's not even any hose or suggestion of how water gets to the shooter. Even as a kid, I didn't like gimmicky unrealistic toys like this.
