yeah, i believe this show came about because weezer was in the process of rehearsing their “california girls” cover for the grammy/beach boys concert performance they recently filmed. rivers wanted to rehearse california girls live in front of people a bunch of times before the filming, and he also wanted to rehearse songs that weezer has been preparing to incorporate into their upcoming tour setlist. so he booked a local show, brought a bunch of backing tracks, and just practiced california girls and a ton of weezer stuff. so hopefully that means summer elaine and drunk dori ends up on their upcoming tour’s setlist
