The media and culture embraced these behaviours to the point it was hard for them to see they had an E.D, beucase they were alwas praised for it.
I think this person meant that idols don’t just showcase ed symptoms out in the open like that anymore, or don’t brag about not eating for the most part. They pretend to be healthy and happy, even when extremely underweight, which is more alarming to me
I would like to disagree. A dieting diary can be helpful. I was starting to be overweight and it helped me lose 14 kilos because I was able to see what I needed to eat less and what I needed to eat more. I've been in a healthy weight ever since. I don't think it's a good idea to just say a dieting diary is bad, but of course it can be used badly.
@@TheMushroomBurger her diet dairy looks like the food logs that people with eds post on tumblr, speaking from experience. Obsessing over calories like that is detrimental to people’s health; just because it worked for you doesn’t mean it’s a good thing most of the time

You watch this and you think she is recovering she looks so happy ladies Code is rising in Popularity, and then you see the 2014 , Kiss Kiss is mentioned and you know whats going to happen next. Still makes me cry to this Day
8:26 This is something that also happened to Ashley. I used to watch her podcast Get Real and in one of the episodes she opened up about how when she was training at Cube she lost her period for a year thanks to her unhealthy diet consisting of cherry tomatoes or a salad for a whole day, then got it back when she moved to Polaris but lost it again after debuting and was forced to go on a diet again...
2:35 this is heartbreaking to watch. all her members looking visibly pained hearing about her experience, and eunb trying to look positive and smile but failing :( as a fellow lavely (ladies code fan) i am so proud about the woman sojung and the other 2 members became even after their traumatizing experience, i hope rise and eunb are happy in heaven or wherever they are now
Dieting isn't the worst this girl has gone through , the accident was the absolute cherry on top. Their galaxy song is so deep and beautiful. I still miss those pretty pretty days
I’ve been a LC fan since debut and even followed Ashley as a dance cover artist on TH-cam years before then. I’ve always thought Sojung has an incredibly unique voice and look. I’m surprised she’s not more famous, she should be at Lee Hi’s level of fame. When LC debuted, I honestly thought they changed the sound of kpop at the time. I’ll never forget them. RIP EunB and RiSE 💖
i watched the first installment of this video years ago, and your words "to flourish among the living" have stuck with me since. it really helped me in my own recovery journey. I cannot imagine the pain these ladies went through, their strength is insurmountable and so very inspiring.
I'm sorry but these people interviewing her and being all concerned are just hypocrites. They will praise girls for being skinny and starvation, while only showing concern when one is actually diagnosed with an ED
100% agree. They are praised for restricting calories as "taking care of themselves" and giving "good visuals". Until their low weight affects their health, then people suddenly say how terrible it is that they had to go through all that. But where do they think the pressure on idols to starve came from in the first place?
This woman has my undying admiration and respect. Everything that she has been through must have been so difficult for her but she came out on the other side of it the woman she is today. I'm grateful that she's still with us.
What happened with Ladies Code is so tragic. I remember listening to their debut song all the time and loving their music! Sojung and Rise were my favorite but Rise became my bias. It was so sad when I heard they were in a car accident and EunB and Rise passed :(
Ladies code will forever have a special place in my heart it’s still difficult sometimes to think about all that’s happened but I’m so happy they continued moving forward despite it all. I will admit I cried watching this sojung is so talented. 😭
i was 13 when I found ladies code, back in 2013. I was 14 when rise and eunb died. I was so incredibly heartbroken because they were my favorite group. I cried for so long. I can never forget it
I'm a huge fan of Ladies' Code. SoJung had so many struggles in her career but she never give up on doing what she loves. In 2022 she was acting in musical Lizzie along with WJSN's Yeonjung (they kissed cof...cof). She's one of the most beautiful, talented and strong woman I ever saw and I'm very grateful to know her story and enjoy her incredible work.
Oh, dear... The part of the video where she talked about her eating disorder really touched me because I went through the same (I had an*rex*a...), with the very same thoughts. I hated myself for being hungry and pushed my limits till I lost my period too and become very weak und underweight. Thank God I started to recover a year before and today I'm so much better and happier :3 She is a very brave, strong and talented lady I wish the best for her
I wish them all the best. I remember the accident happening and then waited for them to come back. I missed their old cheerful songs but rain and galacy are so good that you need to see it. Old ladies code songs are really great too. All those years I didn't see anything wrong with Sojungs weight. She always looked pretty and plus 10 kg never changes anything for me in idols. I wish them a full recovery from a trauma. Once a host asked them if they felt guilty that they survived and they cried.
She has been through so much. Finding happiness with yourself isn't an easy thing. And specially when your parents dishearten and criticize you. Because the most important people for you aren't there when you needed the most. I'm glad that she got strong and dealt with it.
Sojung became one of my favorite vocalist since debut and remain in my top 3. I can't believe how strong she is after all she's been throught. I am glad that her company treated her after they found out but I also wish more companies would detect issues beforehand. We cannot have men and women being that thin anymore.
Unfortunately we do, and because companies have wised up to the backlash idols all pretend they're healthy and ~naturally skinny~ instead and fans believe it-which imo is more damaging. So many young fans think Somi's weight of 105 pounds at 5'8 is normal and natural because she claims it is.
I feel like she is one of the only K-pop idols who people just leave alone when they gain weight and all because you really don’t see any Comments about her weight because I feel like most people understand what she’s been through and they just gonna drop it
Honestly, she’s so strong and talented and such an inspiration in so many ways, I wish that Ladies’ Code were still active, but I pray for her continued success. Her honesty and her particular vocals are such a breath of fresh air. 💖
She is my favorite singer in the whole kpop industry, hey, you should do one for Zuny her co-partner in the group, I think it's a similar situation, because she started in her weight so well, then in the comebacks she was noticing her thinner, a clear example in the comeback of Feedback.
i actually have some of their songs in my spotify playlists that i really love without knowing this group had such tragic history. they all seem so talented and beatiful, they went through so much. :(( i did not expect the death of the two members... my heart goes out to their family, fans and all of the members!! this is one of the kpop stories that made me feel devastated. all i wish now is for them to stay healthy. i love sojung's voice so much!! i coudn't stop repeating her parts in this video ;;
It feels like yesterday that I discovered Ladies’ Code and became a fan; their amazing voices, their spark while on stage was undeniable, and Sojung quickly became my favorite member, even though shortly after I loved every member the same. I was also concerned about her weight, and speculated as many other lavelys did, that it was because of the pressure of the beauty standard in Korea. She came forward about her ED, many truthfully supported her, and she rised and shone. Then the accident happened… I will never accept the fact that their popularity never recovered from that, they went though so much and deserved so much better. At least they are better know, but I honestly miss Ladies Code so much. ❤
i loved ladies code, but truthfully after rise and eunb i just couldn't listen to their music anymore. i was the same way with shinee for a long time after jonghyun, and the same with f(x). i forgot sojung was going through this. i am so glad she recovered. if i were her i also wouldn't have cared about my weight after that. my best friend of fifteen years passed away almost a year ago in a highway collision so this case hits me even harder now. i miss him all the time. i know the pain they go through. ♥
I have never heard of her before and it's sad that it happened with this video, however what struck me was her beautiful voice ! I really hope she can make a name for herself, she more than deserve it
I wasn't a fan of ladies code but I did know Rise from shows.....Their accident was truly devastating. So jung has an amazing voice, she gives me similar vibes as Lee hi
I have so much respect for her. After all the trauma her and the memebers she has left. They don't need the company ,since they gave up on them because of money, they forgot the trauma they went through and was like it was so easy to pass. The media and culture embraced these behaviours to the point it was hard for them to see they had an E.D, beucase they were alwas praised for it.
It's definitely still around 😔...
Idols are still extremely tiny. Look at black pink, twice even the male groups. It's very sad
Obsessing over calories like that is detrimental to people’s health; just because it worked for you doesn’t mean it’s a good thing most of the time
Always the most talented idols who suffer. Luna, Wendy, Wheein, Sojung... :( People say they hate the visuals spot yet put them on a pedestal. All kpop fans are liars. they are so mean to the other positions when they don't look perfect.
So proud of how open she has been about it and her recovery ❤️
Ladies' Code feels like yesterday. I can't believe it's been a decade. WHERE DID THE TIOME GO D=
You watch this and you think she is recovering she looks so happy ladies Code is rising in Popularity, and then you see the 2014 , Kiss Kiss is mentioned and you know whats going to happen next. Still makes me cry to this Day
8:26 This is something that also happened to Ashley. I used to watch her podcast Get Real and in one of the episodes she opened up about how when she was training at Cube she lost her period for a year thanks to her unhealthy diet consisting of cherry tomatoes or a salad for a whole day, then got it back when she moved to Polaris but lost it again after debuting and was forced to go on a diet again...
oh i’m so glad she’s better
2:35 this is heartbreaking to watch. all her members looking visibly pained hearing about her experience, and eunb trying to look positive and smile but failing :(
as a fellow lavely (ladies code fan) i am so proud about the woman sojung and the other 2 members became even after their traumatizing experience, i hope rise and eunb are happy in heaven or wherever they are now
I just commented this :( you can see the concern on the other girls' faces as Sojung speaks. They obviously really care about her
yes, and rise and ashley shaking their heads :(
Dieting isn't the worst this girl has gone through , the accident was the absolute cherry on top. Their galaxy song is so deep and beautiful. I still miss those pretty pretty days
SoJung was one of my first kpop ults. I have such a special love and appreciation for her and Ladie's code as a group.
Such a heartbreaking story~ I’m so glad they seem to be better now ㅠㅠ
I’ve been a LC fan since debut and even followed Ashley as a dance cover artist on TH-cam years before then. I’ve always thought Sojung has an incredibly unique voice and look. I’m surprised she’s not more famous, she should be at Lee Hi’s level of fame. When LC debuted, I honestly thought they changed the sound of kpop at the time. I’ll never forget them. RIP EunB and RiSE 💖
She’s beautiful and has a wonderful voice. I hope the three of them can reunite soon.
ladies code haven‘t technically disbanded, and they still meet up from time to time…love their bond ♥
The members are so encouraging towards her recovery. RiSe being with her when Sojung talked about her condition made me a bit teary 😢❤
i watched the first installment of this video years ago, and your words "to flourish among the living" have stuck with me since. it really helped me in my own recovery journey.
LADIES CODE will be regular guests on Arirang Radio's Sound K every friday starting from this week‼️
This woman has my undying admiration and respect. Everything that she has been through must have been so difficult for her but she came out on the other side of it the woman she is today. I'm grateful that she's still with us.
She was definetly born to be on stage. The fact that she became a Kpop Idol that fast against her parents will.
her voice is so powerful i love it
i miss ladies code so much, man :L
Its so tragic i hope she heals i miss ladies code so much 😭
one of my favorite idols in the industry. she and all the members of ladies’ code are so unbelievably inspiring. i adore them.
I miss her so much, I get sad thinking of all the old groups we'll never see again
Such strong and brave girls. It hurts so bad even if I am not a LC fan but seeing here their struggles hurts so bad I cried.
Thank God I started to recover a year before and today I'm so much better and happier :3 She is a very brave, strong and talented lady I wish the best for her
I Hope you are well today. 😊
@@phantoms2053 Aw, thank you; you are so sweet :3 I am totally fine these days :))
I love that she was so open and talked about it realistically
Same thing is happening with Wonyoung yet blind stans insist that she's just built like that. Smh.
Be neutral about diet talks was the best thing she did.
She's such a great singer and also a recovery inspiration
I feel like she is one of the only K-pop idols who people just leave alone when they gain weight and all because you really don’t see any Comments about her weight because I feel like most people understand what she’s been through and they just gonna drop it
Sojung is one of my favourite vocalists in kpop. I hope the girls and their family will live a peaceful happy life
her voice is so beautiful
She has an amazing voice. Very powerful
At “I ate 500 calories a day” she should have been counseled for an eating disorder
i actually have some of their songs in my spotify playlists that i really love without knowing this group had such tragic history. they all seem so talented and beatiful, they went through so much. :(( i did not expect the death of the two members... my heart goes out to their family, fans and all of the members!! this is one of the kpop stories that made me feel devastated. all i wish now is for them to stay healthy. i love sojung's voice so much!! i coudn't stop repeating her parts in this video ;;
10:17 Regarding this part, Ashley revealed that LADIES' CODE had a very hard time when So Wonderful released.
I'm so proud of her. I hope she never stops singing 💖
ladies code are on an hiatus, they have not disbanded
they left that god awful company but they are still together
Stay strong, Sojung ❤️🙏🏼
she is one of my ultimate vocalists
i loved ladies code, but truthfully after rise and eunb i just couldn't listen to their music anymore. i was the same way with shinee for a long time after jonghyun, and the same with f(x). i forgot sojung was going through this. i am so glad she recovered. if i were her i also wouldn't have cared about my weight after that. my best friend of fifteen years passed away almost a year ago in a highway collision so this case hits me even harder now. i miss him all the time. i know the pain they go through. ♥
I have never heard of her before and it's sad that it happened with this video, however what struck me was her beautiful voice ! I really hope she can make a name for herself, she more than deserve it
missing your videos, you’re really talented! Your hard work should be more recognized but I have to say that I’m a really big fan
I wasn't a fan of ladies code but I did know Rise from shows.....Their accident was truly devastating.
So jung has an amazing voice, she gives me similar vibes as Lee hi
thank you for reuploading!
I knew of ladies'code before this video but I didn't know they were in such a fatal crash. It really shocked me I started to cry.
I have so much respect for her. After all the trauma her and the memebers she has left. They don't need the company ,since they gave up on them because of money, they forgot the trauma they went through and was like it was so easy to pass. (It's not)I hope group have calm life and treasure those memories. Am glad they stood up for themselves and move on because they have morals and values for themselves.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤xxxxxxxxx
"When we take group photos they often photoshop us slimmer."
No shit, but people still strive to look like the pictures of idols they see that are heavily airbrushed and photoshopped. It's saddening.

"the rain" was the second part of their healing trilogy, the third part was scrapped because of jaden jeong
wait what did he do, I tried looking him up but I got mostly loona related stuff
@@pepperminterica before he screwed loona he screwed lovelyz and then ladies code
for ladies code, there was supposed to be the healing trilogy when they returned in 2016, first they released galaxy, then the rain and then he just deleted the third part and left them..
@@vikcatilhoon well how did he screw them up is what they want to know
@@vikcatilhoon not loona and ladies code being my 2 ult groups esp. because i loved their music style... and both got messed up by jaden jeong
I hate Jaden Jeong. Someone pray for Triple S cause it seems like they're going to be his biggest screw up yet.
I follow ashley on ytb and ig i didn’t she was in that kpop group im so shocked!?I didn’t know that 2 of the members died i hope they rest well🕊
i want to cry everytime i see or hear about the accident
Oh thank you
Thanks 💜
I still remember the day the car crash was announced, the whole kpop community mourned for EunB. Even sadder news came after RiSe's death was announced. I'm happy she recovered well in her journey.
Sojung 🥺 pobrecita dd mi bebe me alegro que ahora ya coma mas 🥺
I always hope these girls are well.. I knew about sojung’s struggle, but also hearing about ashley’s horror stories of being starved by her company. Looks like they werent treated right until the end. The fact they were supposed to have a full trilogy when they came back after the accident, but jaden jeong left them and moved onto loona (whom he also left). They just deserved so much better. Wish the best for them
RIP to the beautiful girls Rise and EunB, they are missed terribly. 💗💗💗
I’ve always loved ladies code and sojung has always been my bias
It's so sad to hear about what happened to Sojung because she really struggled with her weight during the first year of the ladies code debut but what was really heartbreaking was that Sojung had her birthday ruined when she and her members got involved in a horrific traffic car accident that caused EunB and Ri-sae to die in 2014. No one should ever have to endure what Sojung and her former members have to go through.
sobbing like a baby rn
I remember my mom buying a CD with kpop mvs and there's ladies code mv ( it has dolls on it) and that's was my first favorite kpop mv. Sad to hear about the accident
i think you're talking about "hate you"
ive lost a few friends even though im young. im only 26, but ive lost a friend to homicide, a friend to a train accident, a friend to a heart attack, and 3 to suicide. i also struggle with a restrictive ed and have since i was 11. i feel so deeply for her, its a living hellish nightmare. i pray for her and her members’ happiness and peace. sojung deserves a life filled with music, love, laughter, and safety. i wish all the members of ladies’ code nothing but the best, both living and departed. 🕊️💕
Damm, for a second there, I thought that was the The Undertaker at the beginning of the video 🤣🤣. I was thinking, "When the hell did he become a talent judge?" 😳 😅😂
I was not ready for that. wow.
I Love Ladies Code
The accident happened the day of my birthday, it’s crazy how accidents like these happen and we don’t even know until later, months or even years
Please take care of yourself sojung you are really great performer of ladies code. Stay strong for others and yourself. Just remember everything happens for a reason. Don't worries about everything okay? You Did very well. Stay healthy and eat as much as you want it .
Omfg the passing of the members!!!! 😭😭 I did not expect to see that here! I remember years ago reading about it just now recognize their names. I can't believe it was this group omg they've gone through sooo much. The anorexia was heartbreaking (from experience too) and the accident rocked my world!! :'( imagine being idols and traveling back from a job and not making it. Omfg! 😰
I remember the accident like it was yesterday. EunB and Rise were my bias and I sang both Im fine Thank You Versions everydaaay
I did not know she went through such a accident, She went through so much I just wanna give her hug
has anyone noticed itzy ryujin’s recent weight loss?
It is crazy that it sometimes takes a life threatening accident separate from the ED to make one not listen to it. One actress literally had to be hit by a car and break her spine for her ED not have a hold of her. She had that ED for years and had so many bad symptoms but it took that threat of not walking for her to let it go.
Good luck on her career, she seems hardworking 🙏✨
if i had a voice like that, i'd never shut up
i miss them so much…❤
