My electric is 4 times the cost of gas. It looks like the heat pump is acting like a very expensive preheat. It looks like it cannot act as a stand alone water heater.Two very expensive looking units with two sets of servicing.We make things ever more complicated. If any breakdown out of warranty you can say goodbye to any theoretical savings . All the videos I have watched seem to indicate the higher the flow rate from air heater the lower Cop you get 30 to 35 degrees seems to be the most efficient.

Can the hybrid heat pump be connected to an existing non Alpha boiler? I assume that the circulation pump has to change since he mentioned that this is a special logic pump with different flows and delta T.
I have one , find it very good at the moment let’s see what it is like in the winter !
