Nah, this only went so well because everyone was protesting against it. Had it not been for the high-payers leaving the game, all we could've done would have been to Wail and Cope.
They really fumbled it and that's saying something after they shifted the schedule and push things back like story and such. They really should have introduced this first. Then the new appends. Then summer ereshkigal and the summer units. They'd have gotten all the love without any drawbacks.
Nah I mean, I agree. Horrible & shortsighted planning on their part, but the important thing going forward is that they stated they won't (or at least, will TRY) do something like this again, & the fact that these updates fix a lot (not all) the issues
@@TheMainCharacterJack lets hope so as eastern companies do have a tendency to make basic add ons the grand reveal. Na will definitely see this change in a more positive light as they'll definitely know to start with the coins with how this situation happened. Hopefully early even as they'd definitely get use out of it in next year's summer as this to the next two years has some heavy hitters

I think it's a good step. It's a balancing act. I think we need to at least accept the good when it happens. But we also need to not get complacent since it isn't actually enough. The 4* situation is still problematic since they just don't get enough coins to say nothing about welfares. But at least this shows that they certainly can make things better and pushing back is a good thing. If we roll over they'll take advantage. So I'm glad we at least got some positive signs out of this. Let's hope they do more positives before they do something stupid like drop level 150 on us without any additional coins... As for Summer...who knows. Maybe Summer Medusa (that includes Summer Ana as an ascension) because Ereshkigal has a swimsuit now and there's the Babylonia connection? Maybe more Servantverse Summer servants? Summer Ranmaru?
Imagine it'd be Summer Arc Servantverse, and they did say in Famitsu theirs another Servantverse ones plus Summer Medea and Medusa too! For me tho, want them to throw my bestie a bone. Give Summer Serenity and Astraea! It could be like Summer 2, had two parts for that

I don't personally like the change as a "fix" but it IS a net positive regardless. The big issue is (of course) if they decide to add more things that cost coins then we have to go through this same exact situation again (we'll be forced to hope that they gift us more), and I'm really not on board with the idea of them gauging discontent before they decide whether or not to "fix" the issue next time. On the flip side the way things are set-up might be a reason the devs decide to hold back making more things cost coins which could have otherwise been a nice endgame goal to grind for. It's still a really poorly implemented system to get people to roll for NP6+ instead of a potentially fun way to incentivize gameplay. But it is what it is, I'm not into this game to the point that it would negatively effect me either way and if the players are fine with it being the way it is then who am I to say anything.
Well, their latest statement (or rather, Kanou Yoshiki's latest statement) says that they will take precautions to make sure we will never have to worry about this again, which sounds like to me they either won't implement another Servant Coin thing in the future OR at the very least ensure whatever they decide to implement won't be poorly planned again. So, I'd like to think nothing like this will occur again. And to be fair to the game, this is really the first time in 9 years that they fucked up THIS badly to the point of universal backlash & immediate action. Lesson learned, hopefully
Reminder that the whole reason this backlash happened was because they released coins in a horrible state, a year later they said they'd fix coins, did nothing for 2 years, and then made it worse with the new appends, you can believe the promise of "we won't do something like this again" if you wish but we wouldn't be in this situation in the first place if they did what they said they would do before we had to effectively riot to get them to do it. on the topic of this "fix," having to bond 15 a unit takes a very long time, and I dont think this even with being able to switch appeds around is a complete fix for coins. Once again, a good step in the right direction, but more needs to be done, if this is the last change, I will consider this a failure.
@@Thatfoolishmonkey What they promised years ago was putting coins in the event shop, which they didn't lie BUT we were misled because obviously we thought that meant universal Servant coin. So it's unfair comparing their initial comment years ago (that we misunderstood or were misled by) to their present day explicit promise (that came about from legitimate fan backlash). Again, did they fuck up? Yes. Is more needed to be done? Yes. But we gotta be fair.

IMO Kanou Yoshiki saying he wants to update the coin system in an interview not directly tied to FGO is vastly different than him directly addressing the fans on the official game website. It's different because in the first scenario, he is talking about things he WANTS to do, whereas in the second scenario, he is talking about things he & the devs WILL definitely do. He made no promises in the interview, but he has on the official statement. One is opinionated, the other is a factual statement that was presumably approved by Aniplex & FGO's devs. I can go on why the two are NOT the same, but I think my point is clear. Unless you or anyone else can find him making promises on the website or on an FGO stream, then the interview you're referring to should not be taken as seriously as an official statement.
The Summer 9 Part 2 Banner better produce Summer Miyu at least!! She’ll be the one of two 4*s. The other I could see Medea, Tlaloc, Luvia or maybe Chiyome? The 5* I could see Okuni, Galatea, Bakin? But yeah, praying & hoping Miyu, Okuni or Galatea also make it into this summer. (Also hoping and praying hard OG Miyu is the 4* Caster Rank Up on the last day) xD PS: Congrats on the NP4s! lol…
