Yes, you can change the print quality setting in the Dell print driver - you can choose between Best (1200 dpi) Normal (600 dpi) or Draft mode (300 dpi)

How to print both side on pages
if I plug this printer into one of my computers which is on the wireless network, will my other devices and computers be able to access this printer wirelessly. Or, do I have to plug into the router or modem?

Yes, the HP LaserJet Pro M402DN will print onto certified laser labels, just check the weight of the labels before you print onto them. The HP M402DN toner cartridge will up to 3,100 pages based on a coverage of 5% of the page. So it depends on how much text or images are on the labels you are printing really to say the number of pages.

Does this printer has PS driver for "Mirror" image printing
Does the "anti-fraud" technology force you to use the HP Branded toners only?

At the moment, yes. There aren't any compatible toners available for this printer, other than branded HP toners, but there may be in the future. The anti-fraud tech is designed to help users in the event of a counterfeit toner being bought and used. Counterfeit toners often cause more trouble than good, producing lower quality prints, and in some cases voiding warranties.
Considering the great print quality from HP branded toners and the low cost per page, we can't see a benefit to choosing a compatible consumable over a branded one anyway.

nah! I bought four compatible toner cartridges for my canon 9100 cdn; they all are great and delivering too good. However i will discover the whole truth once they are replaced or refilled. but to date I have had my return of money and it's still printing.

Forgot to thank you for the reply. I did end up getting two of the bigger brother models HP LaserJet Pro M426fdn. I was able to find 3rd party cartridges from LD products for it too. Just glad that I'm not using Brother printers anymore. The FPOT is much better

There are too many settings on this old low Tec machine. Gonna try and sell mine and I got it yesterday. 150 any takers still has box and papers.
how good is this printer when printing tracing papers?
we need a monochrome printer for tracing paper printing which will end up being used for books printing.

This printer is rated for paper weighing as little as 60gsm, which is very light, standard office paper is usually around 80gsm.
As long as the tracing paper you wanted to print on was between 60gsm and 175gsm you can expect great looking prints.

You have to have paper in the no 1 tray and number 2 tray or just load tray 2 and then you have to turn off tray 1..

Did this guy actually do any research other than read the text right off the HP advertisements? He might be completely accurate in every respect. However, did he do any actual research? Wish I was convinced.

In response to your query, we would advise that this particular alert is to notify you that the black toner is running out. If you do not already have a spare, then we would suggest you purchase one in preparation for changing the toner once it is finally empty.

Hello, how does this printer cope with "heating up" issues that are common in other models?
Hi Nabil, thanks for getting in touch.
As with all laser models, this machine makes use of a hot roller (fuser) in order to make the toner stick to the page. When printing in batches under normal conditions, the machine should not ‘heat up’ much at all and so it will continue to print normally. As with all laser machines, if a print run is particularly long then the machine may well slow down or increase the gap between pages in order to dissipate the heat in the fuser more efficiently.

Printing on envelopes isn't always the most straight forward task. You'll need to make sure you use the manual feed tray and you would ideally use laser certified envelopes.

Hmm that's odd. Please could you try completely removing the paper tray and try to make sure that the paper guides are flush to the edge of the paper stack.

same issue here and it sucks m401dn was far better than this one..problem is with tray 2 checked each and everything it seems to me that there is a roller or sensor issue with this model
