    Watching this back - when I say it’s possible with dogs let me clarify: if you have a mountain dog that is very good off leash, with loads of mountain experience at high elevation, it’s possible. If your dog hasn’t hiked multiple high elevation peaks with you, don’t even consider it. IE- if you are from coming out of state, pretend I said that it’s not possible with dogs.

      Would this be a good introduction to class 4 climbing? The only class 4 I’ve done so far is the short wall on crestone needle.

    Love your videos. There's no elitism or bad music that all too often plague other peak bagger videos. Good work. I'm now at #51. Got a few more to go!

    Make a video on one of these difficult 14ers while descent. That would be great!

      I usually don't show the way down if its the same as the way up because I find it sort of tedious for most viewers (I have a hard enough time getting people to watch the whole videos as is) and its sometimes tough to show things in a perspective that is helpful on the camera. PLUS I am just tired a lot of the times and want to enjoy the hike down vs filming. Appreciate what you are saying though and always a consideration on some of the tougher hikes.

      @@catchingfeels3891 haha sorry for the late reply but pyramid closed due to some rockfall thing if I remember so we did south maroon instead, really only fun class 3 at the top of the ridge, until then it's big and steep vertical gain lol, bring lots of water, the scrambling and views made it worthwhile tho

      @TheVirtualsherpa  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Brandon Salerno hey Brandon, outside of what I cover in the video, there isn’t much more to mention in terms of the trail. I would just say that this summer will have a lot more snow (probably lasting until mid July in spots) since we had a deeper winter. I’d imagine it would hang on in spots like the Amphitheatre since it’s north facing and shaded for a lot of the day.

    Hey! Loving your channel, been watching your hikes for the last few days! Congratulations on completing all the peaks!! I’m coming there in 2 weeks to visit a buddy who lives in steamboat, and I’m dying to hike a 14er while I’m there! I’m a pretty experienced hiker, but living in SC so I’m use to the Appalachian’s etc..what 14er would you recommend for me? I’m kind of sketchy with exposure, but want something a little challenging with a little technique in it..i was thinking Mt.Elbert, but that really just looks like a Bald hike and want something a little more exciting but not too crazy if that makes sense lol..thanks in advance! Love your channel and adventures!!

    • @TheVirtualsherpa
      @TheVirtualsherpa  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks man, glad you are enjoying the content. If you are coming in two weeks, snow is going to be a major obstacle for you on most peaks. Keep in mind that access to THs are limited in addition to clear creek county having a ban on all non residents. This takes Bierstadt, Evans, Grays an Torreys off the table. Quandary may be your best bet or you could try La Plata too, but I would be hesitant to recommend that unless you have avi knowledge. Either way, check out this post where I talk more about the 14ers as it may help you find one: www.thevirtualsherpa.com/ranking-the-colorado-14ers-by-difficulty/

    Thanks for posting. I've been watching a few videos of this hike and I almost psyched myself out of it until I watched your video. I have class 4 experience and couldn't find much information on the green rock section until I came across your video. Well done and subbed!

    Crazy looking hike. Love your videos. Would
    Love to meet up for a hike sometime. Not sure I’m your skill level but willing to give anything a shot. Most difficult peak I’ve hiked is Longs and have done the sawtooth Traverse from Bierstadt to Evens. Either way love your hikes and videos. That maroon bells travers you did looks amazing and crazy.

      I would take a peak at this trip report: www.14ers.com/php14ers/peakstatus_entry.php?recnum=19738 Pyramid is in full blown winter conditions still and even with a week of warm weather will require crampons, axe, etc.

    Cant decide which is the most unpleasant "scramble" ,the Bells ,Cathedral, or Pyramid. Best to look at from the base and walk away . Stick with te needles in the san juans or sangri de christo

    Hey! I was wondering which of the 14ers in the 4 loop pass is the safest / easiest? It will be my first 14er but I'm extremely athletic and diligent. Also, it will be in early August so no snow. I was thinking pyramid peak , but wanted to know your opinion.

    • @TheVirtualsherpa
      @TheVirtualsherpa  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      CTRTV toss up between snowmass and maroon Peak. Pyramid is class 4 and so is north Maroon. Snowmass has a bitching long approach but less technical than Maroon peak. To be honest - none of them are particularly safe or easy but that would be my recommendation

    • @catchingfeels3891
      @catchingfeels3891 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheVirtualsherpa between snowmass and maroon peak you are saying snowmass is less technical? And which has a better view

    • @TheVirtualsherpa
      @TheVirtualsherpa  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      CTRTV both are class 3 but snowmass is much much longer in terms of the overall hike. Both have videos/posts on the site which you can learn more. The views at both are great, but honestly that wouldn’t be the top factor for choosing a hike if it were up to me. Reason all of the 4 pass 14ers are tough is because the elks have notoriously terrible trail conditions in summer (loose rocks/dirt etc). Between snowmass and Maroon, I would def go Maroon, but def not an easy hike simply due to a ton of elevation gain all at once and class 3 hiking once you are done with that.
