I think the town grew up around the mission and cemetery. It certainly is in a odd place. That road is a major thoroughfare. Thousands of people pass it every day. I wonder how many even notice it!!!
Everything that I have read so far indicates that they were not moved. That it was just the two of them buried in the plot that was on the corner of their property.
There are small cemeteries like this tucked away in neighborhoods throughout the Kansas City area. That area of Mission, Kansas, was probably rural farmland as recently as 60 years ago. The modern neighborhood was probably built around it as the farmers sold off the land for development.

Do you think they are really in there ? No one knows for sure what happened 200 years ago. They could have been moved .
