One thing I like about Battlefield 4 is that all the battle sounds are made by the players themselves, other FPS games add ambient audio so you can hear gunshots and explosions even if the players are not doing anything
Unfortunately I can't play Battlefield 4 with headphones so I play it with the TV speaker, it's not that immersive but it would be worse not to hear anything

This game still looks great. The graphics are similar to those in Insurgency Sandstorm watching the game footage back to back.
AND most of the environment is destructible? This game is so ahead of its time

You put yourself at the biggest disadvantage with a controller, i was like that too... i still flew with a gamepad, but m&k for bf4 on pc if you're going to compete
