The router is far from my room and no internet signal arrives. Would you recommend buying it?
Yes, I do. Also, it has an extension cable so that you can put it close to the router.
Where would it have to be facing
No need to be facing. If you want, with the cable you can put it closer to the modem.
Is it just improves your wifi or is it a different wifi that you have to pay for montly
It improves your wifi to get more speed in case you can't get enough, or your computer's wifi is old and not enough to get speed.

No, it is not. It is a wifi adapter to use for a Wi-Fi connection instead of a laptop. My laptop's wifi adapter was old and slow. I turned it off and added this external adapter to get a faster connection.
