Digvijay Singh hailed from a family which was the Raja of the estate.He was from Giddhaur,near Jamui in Bihar.He was the President of the famous JNUSU.He then went to Tokyo University to pursue his Ph.D and was such a brilliant student that he was offered the post of Lecturer which he gracefully refused.He accompanied former PM Chandrasekhar in his Bharat Yatra.He represented Banka lok sabha constituency.He was the Union Minister of State of Finance and External Affairs.He was also the Union Deputy Minister of Railways(1999-2002) and Union Deputy Minister of External Affairs (2002-04). He died in 2010 in London,and I still remember that day.
Shreyasi Singh ,indian shooter who won Siver medal in 2014 Commonwealth Games and Gold in 2018 is his proud daughter. I am also from Bihar and I also feel on both of them.

I am from banka district.. Yes he was really a legendary leader devoid of hypocrisy gripping the common political fellas.. He was the man behind the introduction of railway in banka which changed the fate of communications not only for the district but for the region in entirety.. I still remember the date of his demise nd the city was all in tears.. Hats off to u sir.. Rip forever!

U r right to say that he was equally comfortable in the desi as well as suave gentry . I attended of his parties upon invite on Holika day in the year 2000. I found him joking on holi eve with his servants and consorts while discussing politics with his guests in fluent British accent in his dining room relishing Laal Maans.
I remember he had asked me to sing Kabir Song CHAAP TILAK SAB ...

स्वर्गीय दिग्विजय सिंह जी National Rife Association of India के अध्यक्ष भी रहे। शूटिंग स्पोर्ट्स को अथाह संरक्षण मिला। हुम् लोग जो सरकार की उदासीनता की वजह से इस क्षेत्र में आगे नही बढ़ पाए उनको बहुत याद करते हैं।

कहानी सुन कर हमें आंखों में आंसू आ गया कियून की दादा हमारे प्रिय नेता थे आज भी याद आती है में भाभूक हो गया
किस्सा , दिग्विजय सिंह , सुना ।
बहुत अच्छा लगा ।
परन्तु , जार्ज फर्नांडीज की अत्यधिक सराहना दिल को कचोट गया ।
यद्यपि कि जार्ज साहब अब हमारे बीच नहीं हैं लेकिन समता पार्टी के गठन को सिर्फ राजनीति की संज्ञा देना सच्चाई से परे है । जार्ज साहब के इस कृत्य को भले ही राजनीति के दृष्टिकोण से ग़लत नहीं माना जाय , लेकिन दलितों , शोषितों , पिछड़ों , गरीबों के मसीहा के रूप में उभर रहे लालू जी की कुत्सित राजनीतिक हत्या किए जाने का दोषी तो उन्हें माना ही जाएगा ।
यद्यपि कि राजनीति से मैं अलग अलग ही रहता आया हूं और अपनी भावनाओं को व्यक्त करने से परहेज़ करता रहा हूं लेकिन राजनीति के बदलते रंगों को बड़े ध्यान से देखते रहने की कोशिश अवश्य करता रहा हूं ।
जार्ज जी इतनी सराहना करना सुखद नहीं लगा ।
लगभग समान विचारधारा तथा लगभग पिछड़ों की एक ही पृष्ठभूमि से आने वाले लालू - नीतीश जी की जोड़ी , जिससे अवर्णों में एक नई जागृति आनी आरंभ हुई थी , उसे कुचल कर धराशायी कर दिये जाने के लिए जार्ज साहब को ही दोषी माना जाएगा ।
लालू जी और नीतीश जी को अलग अलग करके उन्होंने बहुसंख्यक समुदाय की उभरती चेतना को ध्वस्त कर दिया था जिसका दुष्प्रभाव आज भी देखा जा रहा है ।
जन-समुदाय आज भी उन्हें माफ नहीं कर पाया है और यही कारण रहा कि उनका राजनीतिक कद फिर उभर नहीं पाया ।
नीतीश जी तो निमित्त मात्र ही माने जाने चाहिए ।
I am from Banka.. I have seen him only once.. On his morning walk.. Near jagatpur village.. I still remember his personality... It is still in my eyes.. Whenever I travel by the Rajendra Nagar banka intercity.. And whenever I go to the newly built hospital near my home.. I heart and soul.. Gets filled with love and respect for him.. Seeing this episode I really got emotional.. Thank you the Lallantop 😊

Indeed he was a great political figure who had tried his best to transform the picture of the backward district of Bihar. I have listened Late Digvijay Jee at my native place in Bihar in 2004 or 2005 parliyamentry or assembly election I am not sure but he was the best speech orators at that time. He gives goosebumps when talk about political changes in Bihar at that time.
Also I don't know whether you know this or not but he was the one who transformed RJD PARTY name to SASURAL PARTY which means this is the party of 4 people SA-Sadhu Yadav, SU- Subash Yadav, RA- Rabri Devi and L-Lalu Yadav. According to him there was not any place even for its party members/mla/ministers and that was truth.
I don't know how much good he was in his office but one thing I can say with confidence there is no one in bihar like him to address mass effectively with such emotions and belongingness.
He was indeed a great and honest leader.He never discriminated people on the basis of caste.If you come to Banka every people respect him irrespective of his or her caste.He was a great leader .Due to him there is railway in our city .Banka was very backward district he uplifted it but now mla mp are uneducated and they just fill their pocket .Condition of banka is worst worst worst worst worst worst.

If from my childhood I remember one political leader's name,it is of Digvijay Singh Sir.A legend, visionary leader of our Banka district.Whole district was in tears hearing his sudden demise.Unfortunately, development started lagging since his demise in Banka.

I knew him but was upset that how leaders committed to socialist ideas went to BJP. George, Natish and Digvijay. We have to admit that after death of Indira Socialist or leftist movement suffered most. lalu and Mulayam became more family oriented and collect wealth for family. No more Lohia, Kirplani or JP. Salute to Dada that he kept socialist flag flying. Nitesh damaged it most for personal powers.
