Mahamaya Prasad Sinha has formed the first non-congress government in Bihar. He was very popular among students. Mahamaya Prasad was also known as a giant killer in Bihar politics because he defeated congress stalwart Mahesh Prasad Sinha in 1957 on Mahesh's home turf Muzaffarpur. Apart from this, 10 years later, Mahamaya Prasad also defeated then Chief Minister K B Sahay in Patna West assembly constituency. His tenure as a Chief Minister was of only 10 months but he is still remembered because of his flamboyant speeches before mass gathering.
