You sure are the Superstar of Western Land!
Wow! I can't believe someone would actually translate this ending! Gives a different insight on how Japan writes Mario Party 2. Now I'm starting to wonder what other dialogues the JP version of the game has... Thanks for the translation!
As a reminder, Pirateland has your character defeat Bowser by hitting him with a sword. Because according to censorship, swords are perfectly acceptable, but guns are a big no-no.
I don't know what Japan had in their minds (just like Wario/Luigi saying OMG in 1), but that is awesome. Bowser literally just got shot by LUIGI! The shy, overshadowed Mario Brother showed who he's REALLY capable of. Guess that's one thing to take down a giant turtle beast. But, I find the international change excusable, because it actually does appear violent, especially with the red (purple in cork gun change) background.
Japan: Real Guns and Real Bullets (That's illegal) Rest of the world (Europe, North America and Latin America): It seems that are playing The Shreiff and the Bandit
Sonic fanboys who hate Mario: "Actual guns were shown/used in Sonic (games or TV series) before in Mario" Mario Party 2 Japanese version: "Hold my beer".
@@AguFungus exactly. It just feels odd and super awkward having realistic violence in a Mario game (just like with Wario and Luigi saying "Oh my God!" in the Japanese version of Mario Party 1)

I remember the ending was changed so that the board winner and Bowser used popgun toys, and Bowser even states "ya Corked me!"

Thanks for the translation!
thanks for your appreciation. i was starting to think someone would say i just wasted my time doing this...
Thanks for telling us what he really said.
This translation is PERFECT!
"Ahhhh, ya corked me!"
more like "Ahhhh, ya shot me!"
Actually, he said "やられたー!" (Yara reta ̄ !) which, according to Google Translate, means "I was defeated!".
He fucking shot Bowser!! Imagine if it were Peach or DK!
With DK, that would be NICE.
Peach, she would have her vengeance
@@LITTLE1994his _______gun can fire in spurts. If he shoots ya, it’s gonna hurt!
Luigi...just...shot Bowser...
🎵 IIII SHOT THE BOWSER, BUT I DIDN'T SHOOT THE KOOPA KID 🎵
Guess he showed the Koopa King who's the real Mario Brother around.
Luigi: OOOOH MY GOD!!!!!!
Don't worry bowzer had a spare life.
Atleast we know peach is safe for now on
YOU SHOOT BOWSER! Wow.
Whoa they were packing real heat in the original!?! Man that is messed up 😂
"LUIGI YOU JUST KILLED A MAN"

Double standards
The only MP that became literally violent...

Don't worry; they're just blanks.
Right?
Nope. To be honest, I would've preferred the Corks version. Sure, it shows that Bowser missed, but I think it was intentional from the start.
What series have you been playing?!
@@mr3urious Nope, real bullets.
Rubber bullets most likely.
"Second Banana? Try Second Amendment."
7 Years later and this comment just made my entire morning I've been crying out of nostalgia watching old videos LMFAO

Japan: Real Guns with Real Bullets
Everywhere Else: Toy Guns with Corks
Now that's how you deal with bad guys
Japanese Version = Luigi being edgy and shooting Bowser
US Version = Luigi and Bowser just having fun in the sandbox playing Sherriff & Bandit
JP = Players use revolvers. (Might be illegal.)
USA = Players use popguns. (For all ages.)
I grew up with the pop-guns version.
Of course. That's what the rest of the world got.
I find the popguns makes it funnier.
If I'd knew Japanese, then I'd play this version
Same here.
I want the dueling shots music to be it's own separate thing
Same.
Japan: Real Guns and Real Bullets (That's illegal)

You are SUPERSTAR
AND YOU KILLED BOWSER!!!
Sonic fanboys who hate Mario:

Mario Party 2 Japanese version:
"Hold my beer".
Kirby firing a gun as eary as his second appearance:
Japanese people rock that hard, always Japanese version and international version is different
Gee! If Mario Party is this lethal, I wouldn’t rate this as E for everyone
I can't believe bowser is dead
The koopa kings lat word… arooogh
This would have been fine to show in the United States. Why they censored it, I can only presume Nintendo intervened.
I think most people agree the corkgun works better due to the silly nature of mario party, it also better fits the stage play theme.
The japanese duel mini game for Western Land is with pop guns, right?
The pop guns are realistically colored and use brown bullets instead of being brightly yellow.
Damn sensitive parents...always ruining everything.
Hey, I actually liked the cork guns. For some reason, I thought it fit the silliness of the Mario series.
@@AguFungus exactly. It just feels odd and super awkward having realistic violence in a Mario game (just like with Wario and Luigi saying "Oh my God!" in the Japanese version of Mario Party 1)
For this, I find it excusable. Using real guns in a Mario game isn't really a good idea if you think about it.
@@AguFungus Also it fits the whole stage play theme.
Can someone give me the Japanese version transliterated to make it look like English?
What the hell, Japan.
OH MY GOD!!!
This was fine in the Japanese and European version but this was cut in the north American version.
needs more blood
BOAT GANG
See the difference?
yes the screen is orange the USA version is purple but Japan she put orange
