Thanks a lot! I've got so many pedals I could do plenty more videos like this comparing similar sounds across different budgets... maybe I will 😊 Cheers!
I love the sound of the Revv G3, but here in Brazil it is unfeasible to buy it (unless you are rich), due to the high taxes that make the final price of the pedal double or even triple in price. While I'm not getting rich, I'm satisfied with my Joyo Dark Flame, which has a sound very, very close to the original and is sold at a price I can afford, even if it's paid in installments via credit card. 😅 Once again congratulations on another great video.
I had the g3 for about 18 months, just could never get into it and sold it. For 20+ years I played, and with the magic of pedals, soon will play again, an ampeg VH-140c. Getting older has made me want to scale back gear lugging. This joyo sounds much better to me not having as much saturation in the low mids making it sound tighter. I'd love to see you do a shootout video of a few vh-140c pedals. 👍
They do indeed... close your eyes and it's hard to tell the difference most of the time. I prefer the purple color, though, and for that reason the Revv ;)
The Joyo is surprisingly close in quietness terms! The Revv, for all its greatness, is not the quietest pedal out there - although of course it's pumping out so much gain I guess I shouldn't be too surprised.
Yep, definitely give heapdhones a try if you can... will probably change your thoughts on these. The Revv is very bright on many settings, but you can dial that out, and you can dial more of it in on the Joyo too. They're both really versatile and both do a great job in my opinion! Cheers for watching :)
I bought the G3 a while back and didn't gel with it. Bought the Dark Flame a few days ago and I love it. Not sure if my ears changed since then or what, but I'm sticking with the Dark Flame. Uzi is killer too. Got both on my little board patched into the fx loop of my HX Stomp XL.
Well the Rev was obviously cleaner and with more variability I guess if you're someone who doesn't use high gain or if you're someone who is just to the core metal would lie the difference
I'm not the most metal person in the world, I agree ;) I dabble in high gain but don't spend most of my time there. But whenever I do, the G3 handles everything I need.
Interesting, as I love both of these. But I've used them for years and I'm used to tweaking them, and I actually think there's a massive range of tones in both of them. What would you recommend instead?

These are the type of videos I subbed for, great comparison from two hugely different budgets. Great stuff

Great comparison, I have a Joyo at home, I'm satisfied, but the Revv G3 also sounds absolutely great. My best regards, Pavel CZ.👍👍👍
Thanks Pavel! They're both great... and with the Joyo you already know what you'd get with the Revv! Cheers and rock on :)
I love pedals that sound great all at 12 oclock!
Me too! You just know that if they sound great there there's going to be more awesome tones in them too!
Why?

They sound very similar. I would take the Joyo pedal, maybe it's just the color of the pedal...but it sounds a tiny bit better to me...🙃

DemonFx R3 and Guptech Vej3 shootout!
How does the noise floor on these two pedals compare?
The Joyo is surprisingly close in quietness terms! The Revv, for all its greatness, is not the quietest pedal out there - although of course it's pumping out so much gain I guess I shouldn't be too surprised.
They both sound pretty darn close! If it were me, I'd grab the Joyo and have more $$$ left over for another pedal LOL
Yep, it's pretty impressive how close the Joyo gets for the price!
They both sounds similar but I think that Revv G3 is brighter than Joyo maybe I should listen them via headphones

I bought the Flame and Uzi from these videos! Excellent! Thinking of grabbing the DemonFx R3 and R4 both under 70 bucks…. I know I digress

👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you as ever, good sir!
👍
Many thanks!
Dark flame = Revv G4, not 3.
Well, Joyo told me different via email, but they also told me it's kind of a mix of the two. I need to get a G4 again to test it out for sure!
@@RichWordsMusic I think about bright switch. Close to G3 tone with right eq settings.
Attack of the clones 😂
They do sound very similar. I love both brands so my advice is get the one you can afford.
Ha ha, exactly 😉 The Joyo sounds great, of course, because it sounds like the Revv! There's a tone like this for every budget.
Terrible pedals. Barely hears difference in gain and modes changes , very strange unintuetive eq. Din't get why it costs so much.

... To call the G3 terrible means a lot, by curiosity what is a good pedal to you?
@@killeak999 obviosly any that don't have that behavior. too many to name in this price range.
Name 3
G3 objectively not a terrible pedal. A matter of taste, or lack thereof.
