Please, please Gitiriba, your construction needs plans, sections, elevations, and details of what you want to build. I am sure there are designers in Kenya who can advise you how to plan your future home. Please do not just start digging foundations of a building without a clear picture of how it works. If you don't plan, there will be a lot of headaches, and a waste of money and time. Construction is one of the most stressful things to take on. It is advisable to plan and document how all systems will work (rain water harvesting, electrical, water, drainage, heating, cooling, etc.), this will give you an opportunity to troubleshoot any future problems and consult with all the parties who will build your house in advance (engineers, bricklayers, roofers, electricians, plumbers, etc.). You have an opportunity to come up with a brilliant house if you don't rush, but take time to plan everything...all the best! You can even ask for designers to assist with designs through youtube. No more SAD NEWS in the future, Please...

In Africa it has common to have those outside. Plus some people start by building smaller units before the main house. ..or smaller sections which they keep adding on. Many have inside kitchens but end up using outside ones due to the fuel they use
