When I was stuck in a windowless shop I put a webcam outside that streamed to a TV I hung on the wall inside to look like a window. Slightly dystopian but helped a little :)
FWIW this is the trick when you've got an inside stateroom on a ship; turn on the TV channel with the camera on the bow and you can actually wake up to natural light like a real human LOL.

Oh my gosh Daisy! Thank you so much for sharing something so personal with us. Is it wrong for me to say that we love ya more for it? And I hope it’s not demeaning to say I have even more admiration for you. You are a Force Daisy Tempest

Your talents and skills have never ceased to amaze and impress me - but to find you are able to achieve all the superb quality you do whilst coping with tourretts is staggering. Having said that, the little tick whilst you were hanging the rules in your workshop was as graceful as ballet so you are due even more respect ! 🙂
I think the hopping about makes you even more of the Magical Elf you already are kiddo. Much respect to you for putting something that personal out into the general public. Specially when everyone is looking for that one tiny thing to cut someone down to make themselves seem more important or special.
I'm a professor and long time guitar maker. It's great to see you at work. I recommend your videos to all my students. Thanks so much for sharing both your building process and something about yourself. You are certainly helping other people. Much respect :-)
This is your best film to date, IMO. I was mesmerized by the build shots, and the music was spot on--relaxing and captivating. The guitar is a beautiful work of art. Thanks for sharing about yourself. We'd never know if you hadn't told us. Cheers!
It is so encouraging to see you fight through your problems and produce such beautiful instruments! I commented a while ago and explained how I was diagnosed with early onset dementia and decided to try and build an acoustic guitar to keep pushing myself mentally. I am now starting my second instrument. Whilst I'm "still here" I will continue to try and keep hold of the dwindling grey cells as much as I possibly can and honestly, watching you is an inspiration. That was even before you told us you too had your mental struggles!! Thanks Daisy
I worked in a photo lab dark room for 30 years so I truly understand the way that place feels. As far as Tourette, I grew up around 3 family friends that have what would be seen as a rather bad case of it and they were told to avoid drinking alcohol. I'm not sure if that helps you any but it's something we take into account whenever we go out to dinner together. I'm glad you're talking about it. I think it's going to help a lot of people. As always, beautiful work!
I've had a facial tic my whole life where I scrunch my nose up, and have always been super self-conscious about it, so it's nice to see you including your hopping and talking about Tourette.
If it helps I have facial tics too and it’s my friends favourite part about me because it’s so unique and apparently charming. Hope that’s what you needed to hear ❤️

Hey Daisy, I just discovered your channel today. You are wise beyond your years and very connected to the passion you have for your creations. I have thoroughly enjoyed watch the guitar build. I have been a woodworker and furniture maker for 40 years, it's a process of training your hands and you seem to have found that magic quickly. Long may you create these beautiful instruments. take care, Jim in Burlington Ontario
Thanks for the "Oceans 11" piano track half way through, it makes your video more ASMR, especially when you are not talking, a fantastic way of making time slip away, rather than to timelapse the footage, GREAT choice, it's really relaxing.
Wonderful video as ever. And thank you for mentioning the Tourette's. I met an aspiring guitar builder a few years ago who unfortunately had been violently attacked for his ticks. I was assessed as autistic last year (aged 58!) and although it is not as visible as the hopping I do have several flavours of stimming some of which are more obvious than others and all are clear once anyone knows what they are. It is so easy to be self conscious about it but hopefully the more we flag it up the less of an issue it will be and the neurobeige will just have to put up with it.
Fighting Tourettes and being a Guitar maker/Luthier, Well, I must say the amount of hard work you put into crafting each instrument must be inexplicable, really do appreciate your efforts and thank you for being such an inspiration for the rest of us watching your videos, I must say you're brilliant. God bless you Daisy, the world needs more people like you, much love ❤. Keep on hopping, hopping into our hearts❤.

I stumbled across your channel because I like watching instrument restoration videos. It isn't often I get a feeling of loss whenever a video ends. Yours was like that. I didn't want it to end. When I see a luthier actually tune a top and braces by the way they sound rather than simply measuring their thickness, I know that luthier is a true crafts person. Needless to say, I subscribed.

That's nice of you to share your terets and leave in the footage of your ticks. There's without a doubt other people suffering from it too watching that can be helped and realise it is nothing to be ashamed of. While i don't suffer from terets, I do suffer from some pretty bad OCD and I can sometimes feel ashamed of my ticks/compulsions too especially if somebody's around though I do try to control it as best I can around others but it does sometimes seep out. The severity of it fluctuates as well with my stress levels and I've had periods where it's almost non-existent and others where it interferes more with my daily life. One of your vids came up after watching a slew of StumpyNubs videos. Wow. Awesome skills. And thanks for the Debussy. It’s been a minute since listening to him. Nice Back in the day I worked at a mental health treatment residence and a young man who had been diagnosed with Tourette’s had a brief stay with us. What came out of his mouth could sound incredibly mean, but on occasion he was inadvertently wonderfully hilarious. We tried, as staff, not to react too much regardless what he was saying, but sometimes I have to admit I couldn’t always hold back my laughter. He was usually pretty chill about it. Sadly, he had some “bad influence” friends and he got arrested when they all got carried away on a joy ride that resulted in felony level property destruction. I was just thinking about him the other day for some reason, and now I’ve seen your video. Good on you for sharing. I think it helps a lot of people understand that many many people who have their struggles with mental health live their lives just like everybody else…😊👍
Before I retired I had a dbl drum sander similar to yours the best thing I did to it was conver it to velcro paper not only was it much faster and easier to change the paper but the added benefit was the velcro added a bit of padding which reduced the lines normally associated with a drum sander and the paper also lasted longer. Good luck and take care.
Thank you for this lovely, charming, vulnerable, insightful, educational, fun, entertaining video! Humbly, would love to hear more about the art and science of fretboard radiusing. And any any other art 'n science task. All of them actually! Best & cheers, Sean
Your carving process is fascinating, I would love to sée more of it. Thanks for all of thé time you spend making, editing and uploading thèse vidéos, I Hope it doesn't distract you too much from your real work.
Love hearing your commentary, but I do have to say, listening to classical music (Clair de Lune, great choice!) while watching you work is magical!! I like it even more than the usual guitar pieces. Also, I love the hop, it only adds to your charm.

Thank you so much for sharing your ticks! Such a wonderful young lady! My 2 year old daughter and I watch your videos because Xyla introduced your content. My daughter loves to see engineering and creativity. I hope she can emulate your style as she gets older.
One of your vids came up after watching a slew of StumpyNubs videos. Wow. Awesome skills. And thanks for the Debussy. It’s been a minute since listening to him. Nice
Back in the day I worked at a mental health treatment residence and a young man who had been diagnosed with Tourette’s had a brief stay with us.
I love the authenticity Daisy.

One of the best videos Daisy has ever done, truly amazing!
Love hearing your commentary, but I do have to say, listening to classical music (Clair de Lune, great choice!) while watching you work is magical!! I like it even more than the usual guitar pieces. Also, I love the hop, it only adds to your charm.
Beautiful video! Loved it.
Hi Daisy! You do lovely work. Your dedication to being a luthier is rewarding and inspirational!
God Bless.
I think this just became my favorite video of yours! You are amazing, thank you for sharing, made my day. xx
So talented and so strong, you're an inspiration xx
Excellent. I dunno, I find the hops pretty charming.
I commented early on while I was enjoying the vlog style, but the second half with music and luthiery was so amazing and meditative. Loved it 👌
Wow the part about having to edit out the tics hits so close, loved this video
Fellow Tourette's sufferer here. Mostly head and neck tics for me with occasional hand movements. Mostly under control nowadays but worse when I'm stressed or tired.
Good on you for making it a part of your video and sharing.
I absolutely love your videos!! Much thanks for a glimpse into the life.
Great video Daisy, thanks for sharing - Cheers from Canada
