Hey everyone (Joe here), hope you've enjoyed the video! Sorry about the audio, this was our first time using this mixer (because we have 2 mics in this vid) and for some reason there seems to be a high noise level that wasn't noticeable before the video was uploaded. We'll get it figured out for the next time we have a guest, I promise!!
Thank Ylenia for us! She is so beautiful and seems so sweet! I've enjoyed seeing her and Salvador in your vlogs, and this was like an extra treat! Thanks for all you do, and making this such a welcoming place to be! Love you Joe and Laura!
I'm Italian and when I heard you talking of Pan di Stelle my heart sang! I love those biscuits so much! Ylenia is a bit shy but seems so sweet! Loads of love to you two!
THIS LOOKS SOOO DELICIOUS 😍😍 please film a few more videos with her while she's in the states...she's so sweet and cute ☺️ a bet she has more awesome recipes like this 💕
We always use like square vanilla cookies(we call it tea cookies) and dip it in coffee then put a layer of a spread(butter, melted brown chocolate and brown sugar mixed together) and then layer it and every layer has the spread on top and then you coat the whole thing with it. Then put like hagelslag on top or birthday decorations ect. This is Dutch :) (or well from the southern provincie Limburg) This is called pletskeskoek or koekjeskoek :)
Oh my goodness! These are the best kind of recipes, so simple and sooooo delicious! Thank-you! I'd love to try this one! We used to make one similar, when my kids were young. It was a couple of layers of the following: plain chocolate cake, chocolate pudding, whipped cream and, crumbled SKOR bars. Oooooh, you've brought back memories of heaven on a spoon.
With all the crap going on this world. I come here on Laura's channel to medicate myself. Laura is just so delightful to watch. Her family is amazing and her love for her family is even more amazing.
Definitely buying your book Laura! My mom & I love watching your videos because when we need a recipe for dinner or somewhat occasion we always know where to go, thank you Laura!
I've loved your cooking videos! Since i want to own a bakery when i get older I watch a butch of baking videos and I turn to you. I made this and it was AMAZING!
I’ve ordered these cookies and wonderful Italian hazelnut spread I had while visiting Italy and make this in individual trifle dishes. This is so yummy, quick and easy. Thank Alania for us all.
OMG Laura, this is seriously the best dessert I have ever tried in my whole entire life!!! Thank you so much for sharing, you are amazing, we love all your delicious recipes, you are seriously the BEST!!! :D
When I saw this video was uploaded I was thrilled!! Ylenia did wonderfully and look how much love she's getting from your subscribers! Wonderful recipe wonderful video you two are talented and stunning. I could tell Ylenia was shy (as she's more interactive in the vlogs) but I hope she knows she did a GREAT job. xx
In Australia we have something similar, we use chocolate ripple biscuits & cream, stack them to make a log shape then let cut on the diagonal to get the layers of cream and soft biscuits but I have give this go with Nutella it sounds delectable. Laura & Yelania you should also do a makeup tutorial before she leaves, so lovely to see the closeness between the two of you
looks so amazing!! I think I will make this for a family dinner tomorrow!!! Also, I don't understand how any Laura in the Kitchen video could have a thumbs down!? all your videos/recipes are amazing!! LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE from Australia! xo
this is so cool..because the dessert is not by any means gourmet or takes alot of time or expensive ingredients to make and it looks like it makes them happy.
I felt so proud for being able to understand them when they were speaking italian ;). im glad I took those italian language classes in high school and college
Ciao Laura. Sono italiana e vivo in italia ma seguo le tue ricette da anni! Sei bravissima ed è stato un piacere sentirti parlare in italiano! Good luck!
My niece makes a similar dish she calls "Cookie Plop." She has used chocolate chip cookies, and I've made it with Oreos (yum!!!). We use evaporated milk for dipping, and mix softened cream cheese with the sweetened whipped cream. Never once have I thought of adding Nutella in the mix - what's wrong with me??? This looks delicious! Thanks so much for sharing.
1. I loved the dessert! I'll definetely try it! 2. Ylenia in the video making a recipe! What a cool surprise! 3. Please, have Joe make something with you for the 1000th episode!!
I am so happy that you did this! Such an awesome recipe and I love your family!! Can't wait to make this for one of my girls nights!!! Thank you Laura and thank you Ylenia for sharing this!!!
After seeing this recipe I was grocery shopping at my local grocery store and there I saw they had the chocolate pizzelle you mentioned would be ideal for this recipe. Since I saw them I decided to make this dessert. It was amazing! So simple I made my own whipped cream as well so easy. But it was delicious! Love your recipes
You two are so cute! And the Cookie Trifle looks incredible!!! Since I'm in Germany, it's pretty easy to find Italian food and cookies. Will have to try this, and I know for sure my little daughter will absolutely love it.
Nabisco "Famous Chocolate Wafers" sold in most grocery stores or online. This could be closest to what you have in Italy. Here, we use them to make "ice box cake" with whip cream in between them. Basically cookies and cream cake. Thank you for this wonderful recipe Ylenia!
OMG! These are absolutely AMAZING! I managed to find pan di stelle (special edition too-- it came in star and heart shapes) and italian nutella here in Asia. My entire family was gobsmacked. I also did a test run with 3 choc chip cookies in a muffin tin as well-- IT WORKS!
+iris c viol i live in florida and we dont have a shoprite either! Can you please tell me where the best store would be to get those cookies? Publix? Aldi? Walmart? I want to make this recipe this weekend =D
+Armeen Kazim Hii! Well I went to the store ( Kroger ) and the ones that I remembered looking the same were sandwich style.. so I didn't get them... I'll try Publix/Walmart/target another day and if I can't find anything similar I'll get the sandwich ones and clean out the middle part lol. I can't remember what brand they were I think they were generic if I can find something like she uses I will write it here for you :)
Anything with Nutella catches my attention. It was lovely to see two beautiful ladies. This is a must try recipie! I hope they do more while she is here visiting.
Hi Laura... I'm from Italy (Caserta)...a little suggestion to make the recipe even more delicious.... I made this trifle myself...but instead of using whipped cream, I use the same filling that you'd normally use for Tiramisù (basically a mascarpone cheese cream filling)... I divide the cream in two parts...and only in one part i put in some nutella (as one preferes)... so with these two types of filling (one only with mascarpone cheese...and one with mascarpone and nutella)i create white and brown layers between the biscuits..... I guarantee you It's the bomb *_* kisses
In Australia we call it a grog log. Soak biscuits in your choice of alcohol. Layer of biscuits, layer of cream till you run out. Must be chilled overnight. The biscuits turn into a sponge like consistency and it cuts like a cake. Yum!

She seems so sweet!!! Italian is so similar to Spanish I pretty much understood everything you were saying!
This is pretty much the same recipe we make here in Argentina which it's called CHOCOTORTA. But instead of Nutella we use dulce de leche.

Adorable! Would love to try this!
Awesome video!! I can't wait to try this recipe. Both beautiful ladies!! Thank you for sharing your beautiful family with us. All the best to you all.
Instead of milk, try coffee with a shot of kahlua for grown ups.. And use a piping bag for the Nutella. Muuuch easier 😀
