Best thing about this series is how you guys say “draw” I swear I be dead over here. Coming from a super early Yugioh player it’s fun to watch you guys play the new stuff I don’t have the patience or friends to play myself
I originally thought the sacred beasts were a different depiction of the same gods. You know, like how a lot of different mythologies have pretty significant crossover.
I don't think there will be that many players who like waiting 10+ turns to actually make a decent board. Not they shouldn't do something like that, but I feel that should be a dedicated mode, rather than event.

My initial reaction to the sacred beasts were actually pretty positive I really like the sacred beasts just as much as I love the Egyptian gods and my first initial thought were that these were basically the opposite to the Egyptian gods like the sacred beasts were like devils to the Gods and even in the manga there are three cards specifically meant to be the opposite to the Egyptian gods
I love how when you tossed away that one card you were rewarded twice with the cards you needed for it lol. Fate just didn't want you being able to win.
So one thing that most progression series do (at least the ones I've seen) is that they don't use every available card. What they do is that both players open digital packs and then they keep what they pull for future sets. So when they do get to a new set they could potentially use a card they used previously to work with the new cards they got. Your doing something pretty different where every card is available to you but only that set. That's gonna cause a lot of issues because there are a lot of Heroes, Destin Hero, and Cyber Dragon support in the GX era. They need the old cards + polymerization to do anything and since that doesn't exist for you a vast majority of cards are gonna be dead to you
My reaction was discount version lol, but for real they couldn’t bring back the gods in the show because what happened so they made the Lidl (Walmart) version
Whenever I first saw the sacred beasts, I honestly loved em! I always compared them to the god cards as their evil counterparts, I liked the designs personally. They are a pain to use but I still enjoyed GX and the sacred beasts. My favorites tho are probably the earthbound immortals

That’s fucken sick, give me more please. Plus the fact that the Sacred Beasts have good effects and really good support cards makes it, IMO, a better archetype than the OG Gods

When I was first watching Yugioh GX I honestly thought that the sacred beasts were the Egyptian God Cards. So when Jaden dueled the guy using the sacred beasts I was like "who the hell are these goofies"
Yeah if it wasn't for the anime's censorship pretending Pegasus survived getting his eye ripped out and getting killed by Bakura then they wouldn't have had to make filler arcs to replace the Wicked God Card arc.
Yugioh GX was a directionless mess of a series that repeatedly tried to tap into DM for some life in the hollow husk of a series that it is, lol. The Sacred Beasts are emblematic of that in that they're random rip-offs of the God Cards with absolutely no relevancy to Jaden or his story and are functionally these completely random plot-devices that somehow enable villains to do things, lol. And, by comparison, they're terrible cards, that Konami didn't need to nerf into the ground like they did to the Egyptian Gods to release them into the TCG.
I clearly saw the difference between the other egyptian gods and sacred beast. But I can't tell you the difference between uria and slifer. It's literally a copy and paste
My first time watching Yu-Gi-Oh was a dvd of the "Pyramid of Light" movie and after that i only watched 2 ramdom episodes of Yu-Gi-Oh GX, one of which was a episode about the Sacred Beasts so i thought they were corrupted versions of the God cards made by Yubel.
When I found out Sacred Beasts were a thing I thought there was going to be a war between them and the original God cards. Considering how everyone who worked on the creation of the God cards died or disappeared I thought the same thing was going to happen to the creators of the Sacred Beasts and we’d get an arc called “Wrath of the Gods.”
The Sacred Beasts seemed cool because they were more demonic versions of the Gods. Also their gimmicks of each one being related to a different card type was interesting. I think they should have made an archetype based around each so they would be more playable separately, rather than lumping them all together. Also if the lore in the show about them was better or at least showed a connection to the Gods, they would be more interesting. Cause randomly looking like the Egyptian Gods is weird for no reason.
Rhyme literally just put a bunch of garbage in his deck. The spell he's talking about for Raviel (Phantasmal Martyrs) is SO BAD. It only works if you have Uriah or Hamon out AND you have 2 other cards in hand AND it makes you discard your hand, so if you draw Raviel it's literally worthless.
Honestly the only sacred beast that stood out and was better then the og God card it was inspired after in my opinion is uria because it's atk will always be high and u dont have to worry about ur hand since all he takes for power is trap cards and can kill traps thou if uria kept slifer's effect that would be kinda broken
I’d say slifer is better since his second mouth effect is more useful than destroying a trap and you’d also have to play a decently large amount of traps to get urias attack as high as slifers. And from my experience sacred beasts don’t run to many traps, including myself.
I always liked the sacred beasts more than the gods, specially for their summoning methods. I love hamon specially That being said, does rhyme believe they're summoned like the gods? That deck isn't good for summoning neither of them, yet he still put them in and refused to discard them

In the anime, Pegasus is still alive, and his company is still making new cards at this point in time, so I don’t think it’s a Kaiba thing. Weren’t the sacred beasts meant to be locked away, because - like the God Cards - they were too powerful, and could destroy the earth, or something like that?
I thought the sacred beasts were ok. They are supposed to be the dark/shadow versions of the Egyptian gods (hence the more undead look to them). Similar to the Wicked God's who are supposed to be the Egyption God's opposite. It's confusing if you ask me, but I like the sacred beasts more than the Wicked God's.
Definitely in the minority on this but I always felt that Slifer was the only cool looking god card (Granted red is my favorite color). Ra just seems out of place (Bro is just a transformer) and Obelisk is just kinda goofy with his coolest attribute being that he was used by Kaiba. And while there's definitely a case for the sacred beasts being over designed and edgy, I just like that they look like they even belong in the same archetype... Also I'm edgy and like the more intricate and fiendish designs. Really sells the aesthetic of these twisted manifestations of raw power.

Hell just be happy that's not blast sphere which I used 24/7 and it did the full monsters attack damage back to you not the nerfed version 😂
I clutched cause some dude used the Dinotopia deck. While I used the super heavy samurai from the anime🤣. He did all the damage and I cleaned up. I laughed so hard because I thought I lost. But I'll admit out of the many players I've played. His was more fun than an annoyance and I enjoyed it. It was just alittle luck
I loved the raviel structure deck Idk what my brother played maybe zombie madness I remember we were broke so we copped whatever looked cool from Walmart I still regret it because as an adult I see the cause and effects but still nostalgic

Well, I was always a big Greek Mythology fan when I was a kid. When I saw the Sacred Beasts, I immediately thought of them as different "versions" of the God Cards in the same way that the Roman Gods are different "versions" of the Greek ones. Now, that's pretty wrong as far as the concept of the Sacred Beasts, but I figured that out later lmao.

These type of duels are what Master Duel needs for events. Limit us to older cards or specific packs. Be more interesting then what they do.

I thought the sacred beasts were gonna be watered-down god cards cause they look like dudes (or snake, in uria's case) cosplaying the god cards.

This has to be the worst misplays by dino. He could've had such a strong monster with his grass phantoms several times.
