I don't think you realize how hot it can get some places in the daytime. if the daytime lasted twice as long it would eventually reach an unbearable level of heat. a 24 hour night time would be far more bearable thing

A reason why certain countries throughout the world, with limited daylight suffer from the condition of SAD and need artificial light and other sources to increase the levels of serotonin in the body. I've learnt this over time through my own depression and as a person who also gets affected by SAD.
I get bad depression during the summer, awful bright sunlight. Feels amazing once autumn then winter hits, finally feel alive and well when it is dark by 3:30pm.
