I'm glad he said chunky and not junky mounting brackets.
This is a great kit, I like it a lot. Sounds good and super fun to play
Been considering this kit for some time, this review has pretty much made up my mind to get one. Always enjoy your reviews. Great review drummer by the way
I have the earlier version with the 18" kick and 13" x 6" snare and love it. Sounds fantastic- especially for the price.
I like the drum and the review, but it would be good to also give an impression of the drums while not closemiked, just with a stereo pair of neutral sounding roommicrophones. This would give the more natural sound of the drum.
Just buy some and listen anyway and all day.
@@EarthtonesCymbals 😭😭😭
Thanks for a great review. I've been playing a Ludwig Breakbeats for about 10 years that needs updating from a lot of wear. This looks like a perfect replacement.
Were you happy with the Breakbeats? I’m in between buying the Breakbeats or the New Yorker 🤔
Yes, I’ve been very happy with the Breakbeats.
Just ordered this kit and i cant WAIT!
I received mines 1 month ago I replaced the heads and played it live and IT SOUNDED AMAZING!!!!! Congratulations!!!🎉
@@Jay19848 I bought one on clearance at GC in December. It’s the Aquabats one and although I’m not a fan of the band or the wrap on it I thought for 150 I’d give it a shot… I left it bone stock and man, I’m shocked at how good it sounds. For something so compact I’m getting such a good tone from it. The snare certainly isn’t my favorite but it’s still a lot of fun to play, I’m glad I got it.
You guys do fantastic reviews. Thanks heaps
This review made up my mind! Just got one
Gorgeous kit...cool playing!
Sounds great for the money! Especially the toms.
That's a great sounding kit! What a bargain!
Good content. Thank you for your time & effort in making this video and doing this excellent review of the New Yorker kit. Best wishes to everyone reading this.
Excellent review!
great review. (the 18'' kick version is better in my opinion)
Great Review
Sounds good.
Sounds great old guy like me
Quite helpful; thanks!
Very similar to my pearl midtown kit, but with higher price
I'm in Canada and PDP is a bit cheaper than the midtown and comes with a 14" snare vs 13" for Pearl.
When you buy this does it come with the auxiliary clamp to connect the ride cymbal by the Tom?
Can the mount on bass drum hold a 20” ride cymbal or would that be to heavy ?
what kind of skins do you need to replace the bass drum, tom and floor tom? thanks
This or Tama Club Jam?
Pearl Midtown
Nellie commands your attention… this new guy seems like he’d be great craic at a party… #BringBackNollie
it is possible to raise the kit enough to play standing up?
Is this kit Good for new acoustic players? right now I have an e kit And thinking about switching Over to acoustic
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Put different heads on this kit and they will sound much better.
I want this so I won't have to take my heavy as kit to shows. Gonna trigger it tho.
$450 kit with $2k cymbals… can’t be better than that
What Cable are you using for the mic inside the Bassdrum?
a mic cable
Shades of the Ludwig Breakbeats....
All companies now have their own version of this, which makes sense. There isn't a patent on small drum sets, and the Sonor Jungle was there waaaay before the Break Beats happened. I like the Break beats - but this is a better riser design and the included snare quite frankly sucks. And the sparkles look phenomenal IMHO, especially the light pink, very classy.
I'm getting pinkies....
Next time get someone who can really play drums. (Sarcasm) That guy was great.
Cicero Summit
Do the crashes come with the set?
No.
This or Sonor aq2 Safari?
Pdp is 40% of the safari's price.
I prefer this one (at half the cost...)
Safari is outdated. Sonor make great drums, but their line of miki-kits sucks IMHO. Their martini kit with a 14" kick is kind of a joke...
Poplar makes a great sounding compact kit!
Aside from that this looks like a pretty typical bastard child by marriage made in China Knock-off compared to its much much higher quality AMERICAN MADE DW Counter Part!!
Very cheap drum set and very good sound süper beginner drummer only
