Jimmy Varas Hardy won't be back until week 11. I think that's the Thanksgiving Day game. He still is a helluva DE! Dallas will surely benefit from his services. I don't know who will get the starting jobs for the D-line, but if Randy Gregory has a good training camp, gains HELLA weight, like 40 pounds or so, minds his p's and q's, and gives up blunt, he'll get on that D-line! He's in the league's substance abuse program. He's gotta watch his ass or he'll start getting suspended, and after that happens a few times, it's goodbye charlie!

carlinfan4life Hardy will apeal and will most likely have it reduced to 4-6 games top, so we should be counting with him.
What a steal... Falling to 60 will definitely motivate him to be even better than he is. I see this as another Dez story for the Cowboys. Take a chance on him even with the off-field issues, and he may get his head straight with the right people and the necessary motivation, discipline, and good habits, and he can be great. Can't wait to see this bad boy on the field!
Just watched the Holiday Bowl & he was nonexistent. Loved watching him at Nebraska, but USC's Leonard Williams was dominating. Looks like a better prospect, but that's not to say that Gregory isn't good either. Williams is just on another level.
I completely agree. Gregory is good, but Leonard Williams was unblockable tonight. Can someone 6'6 300 pounds really move that fast?
I was looking forward to watching two of the top defensive lineman, but Randy Gregory was a no-show in the Holiday Bowl. SMH Like you guys mentioned, Leonard Williams was a monster.
Ya but that husker o line was a lot of inexperienced guys who had to step up do to injury. Usually when gregory is quiet something's wrong

His knee was a big problem in that Holiday Bowl.. He injured it on the first play of the first game of the year vs FAU, and did not look the same from there on out.. From what I've heard, he LOOKS to be 100% now

Angel You don't know what you're talking about. He was a top ten pick until he failed his drug test for weed. Nobody is concerned with what he can do on the field as he's one of the best players in the draft, it was the issues off the field.

Hate Dallas, not a Nebraska fan but I loved this pick. Reminded me of them going after Dez a few years back when he had a few ?'s around him for off the field issues. Dallas got a great player if he can stay on the field.

The first thing that stands out is his game speed. He has serious NFL speed. He was just too fast for the opponents in college. If he bulks up just enough to not lose any of that speed, he's gonna be a force. He's the type of player that could make the Cowboys play more of the hybrid 3-4/4-3 defense and stand him up and move him around to go after the QB from different positions on the line of scrimmage.
Potential to be a terror with his power and quickness. The right fit and he can be a 15+ sack guy.
He wasn't 100% healthy the past year.. He has strength when he can plant his leg without it aching like it was basically all of last year.. He's back at 100% now and go look at the difference between his combine stats. ps he was ill during the combine, and his stats from his workouts with teams..

It's really hard to see who will be great in the NFL between Fowler, Beasley, Harold, Gregory, Odighizuwa, & Ray. This year reminds me of 2009 draft. Curry, Maybin, Orakpo, English, Ayers, & Matthews. 3 were bust, 1 below avg, 1 avg, 1 Great. Wow looking at history the percentage at drafting a great player is slim. I bet the least expected player will be the best out the group. Just like Clay Matthews.

He looks fast
He is great in contain and pursuit but he lacks the burst and quickness to beat left tackles within a couple seconds. Nfl passing is about timing and the qbs deliver the ball so quick so you gotta have tremendous speed & burst with great moves or you'll never get to the qb. I think he is going to struggle the most of the top 5 edge rushers. He really needs to work on his burst and quickness but the upside is if he can learn the burst with his athleticism he's gonna be a monster. I think that's what the scouts are seeing.
