Wonderful. I bought the book. Love the comments, love Colm's enthusiasm, find the dinner described fascinating, brilliantly told anecdote, love the characters, esp. the isolationist...lively and colorful.

I finally bought and read Brooklyn and then went on to read Nora Webster and The Blazing Heather and am captivated by the beauty of the writing, the description, the characters and the inner thought life of the beautiful characters.
I feel like I am part of their lives and live in Ireland with them.
I am a quarter of the way into The Master and I am missing the intimacy I felt with the characters of the first 3 novels. I hope it comes as I continue reading because Mr. Tòibìns novels have helped me through a time of great grief as the characters in his novels experienced. I lost the love of my life in July and I felt so much as these characters seemed to feel as they adjusted to their changed lives.
