Looking good Mike! I think a lot of people fail to realize how much work is involved in prepping and painting all the the little pieces that make up a project. When everything is said and done--It's worth it though!😎
Absolutely! Thank you for following along as I get this old girl all prettied up and back on the road !
The car looks awesome. You do good work.
thank you, still learning with every day.
Shiny old paint really does look good! Way better than the patina sauces and clears that make rust black and shiny.
yes sir ! I absolutely agree...happy we cleaned it up. Looks 100 times better
Awesome looking mike thanks for keeping us updated see ya on the next one.😁
thank you Doug ! I appreciate it
This has got to be one of the coolest 34s out there. It's such an amazing car you got there Mike. I'm not that keen on the rose colored engine, but it's not my car. Keep doing what makes you happy. Don't listen to what others have to say.
Cheers mate.
Right on !! Thanks so much ! The color will grow on ya ! 😁👍
Mike I think you car is killer. It would be a dream for me to own such a car. So thanks very much for sharing your journey with it. If I can I will get over there to check it out in person at your drag event. Brilliant thanks tim
I appreciate it man...thanks ! Hope you can make it over !
The '34 is really coming together, looks GREAT!! I know it's been a long hard road for you, but your hard work is bearing fruit.
It has been, but it's certainly been worth the wait. Finally taking shape again. The k you for the kind words and support
Love seeing this the '34 🤜🤛
Thanks ! Lots more coming up, less talking too 😁👍
just trying to catch everyone up 🙏
From the belt line up. I was thinking white patina. A lot of that turquoise going on. Just a thought. Love what you do Mike!
Ehhh not sure that’s my thing. Not a fan of two tone paint jobs. Especially on an old hotrod. Lots of white in the interior. 👍🏼
@@ThisOldHotrod I get it Mike. Love your channel!
@dadsrustorations5103 thanks so much 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼. I appreciate your support, for sure. Thank you
The 34 looks fantastic Mike. Love this hot rod. Keep the updates coming.
Thank you ! Lots more coming for sure
It’s taking shape keep going spring is around the corner.
I just found your site. Very impressed with your work.
Thanks Mark. I appreciate you saying that.
Mike, enjoy your videos. On your rear coil springs, I have basicly the same set up. I made a cup about 1.5" deep that is a little larger Dia than the coil. Welded it to the frame. This keeps the springs from shifting side to side.
I did a similar fix, I decided to go inside the spring to center it on the underside of the framer.
I feel, it's temporary. Its looking like I'll reconfigure the rear suspension if it doesn't ride well.
@ThisOldHotrod mine is a 27t bucket. Completely home made 30 years ago when I didn't care to much for the ride. Weighs about 1500 lbs not the best ride. Don't think I will be driving to lake George anymore , would need help to get out
Love your coupe, Mike! You have an amazing shop!
I appreciate that. Thank you 🙏🏼
Looking great
thanks greg
@@ThisOldHotrod I wish I lived closer and could come bye and check out your garage. I'm near Pittsburgh Pennsylvania
@@greghapp1681 oh it’s just a nice afternoon drive. Haha. Cmon now , don’t be a sissy.
Your shifter gives me a flashback from when I was 16. I watched a show called My Three Sons. The oldest son had a roadster with a long high shifter. Loved the show. My first car was a $50 ‘58 vw. (I made time payments. )I made a shifter extension so that the shifter knob was just below the mirror like on the show. It was too cool.
Thanks !! I’ve never heard of that show. I’ll have to see if I can find old episodes.
Great story about your VW.
Found your channel a few years back when you started on the car. Glad to see you back on it. The car is too cool. You are doing a great job on it.
Welcome back! Thanks for the support
Dash pinstripes!!!!!! Everything else is spot on bro! That engine color was a great choice! Love that steering wheel too. Stick to the plan, this is working out to be your forever car. NOT FOR SALE
Yes sir ! Glove box door is going to lettered and striped w my moms name. I named the last car after my gram (her mom). This one is going to be my Moms.
Not for sale 👌🏼. Just like you said.
Thank you for the kind words. It’s coming along !!
Paint booth is ingenious 👍
thank you 🙏
That's a bad ass car Mike! 😉✌
thanks Mike
Keep ----- Shining On ----- Mike ------- Your car is ------ Looking Good ------- Good idea with the Party Tent ----- Won't be getting paint spray all around in your shop ----- Rodney
It worked perfectly
Thank you
One of thee best internet Rod build projects, in my opinion. I love the synchronicity of builds like this. The hub caps fit the 'look' perfectly and where many would, in my opinion, o.t.t. the wheels with vintage mags or such, keeping the caps and steelies look, firmly and stylishly nails this Hot Rod into that '50s era. Cool-o-rater meter is bustin' HAT-HAT-HAT!!! Good work, Sir. Very, good, work. Onwards...
That you so much ! Happy you are enjoying the car and the direction I've taken it.
Im excited to put every part on the car and to continue to watch it take shape.
Thanks for another , Brother !
thanks for following along !
Nice score on the vintage hubcaps
thank you..it worked out for sure
Looks great!! Absolutely enjoy watching your videos. Great stuff!!
Glad you enjoy it!
Happy to see you back and have started back to work on the '34. I was afraid that it had became one of those stalled projects that never get finished. Just keep plugging away on it, it'll get done.
That you so much...Im happy to be back on it for sure.
Making progress almost every day lately.
Looking good man.
Much appreciated
lookin good and cool
Thanks !!!
That coupe is bad*ss. I can't wait to see it when it is finished.
picking away...hoping this coming spring, it'll be on the road 👍
Mike! Its good to see you again!!!! I rescribed to your channel! Its been awhile but I understand everything. Your 34 is coming along nicely! All the tidbits done to it make a big difference! I like where the car is going, but I have a couple of suggestions if you don't mind? One is that if you're going to have those gorgeous 6 jugs jutting upwards, forget about a hood!!! This is a hot rod!!!! The other thing is you can change the look of the car when you feel like it in the way of the wheel covers. All you have to do is pop off the wheelcovers exposing the raw beauty of the steel rims, they could be red, tropical turquoise, white or the color of your shocks and motor!!! I think that would be really cool and you don't even have to change the tires! Great progress on this car and hope to see more on your channel whenever you get a chance!
Thank you !! All ideas and suggestions are spot on ! I’m with ya on all of it !
Lookin good!
Thank you 🙏🏼
Rubbing compound and 4.0 scotchbrite wirks great on old chrome.
Oh I never thought of that. Thank you. I’ll definitely be trying that.
Hi Mike good to see you back on 34, life happens to all of us. I didn’t know the 34 had a 4 so Hydramatic… by chance do you have a floor shifter for it? Or know someone who does? I’ve been looking for 6 years. I’m building a period correct 1948 Anglia gasser ( street )
no I didn't get the old Pontiac motor and trans with it. It had the Olds motor in it with the stock trans. No shifter
I want to get my sport coupe ready to go out to race of gentleman this year and I would love to meet you in person out there hopefully
Alli and I will be there, find us and day hello..we shouldn't be hard to find in the coupe.
Purrrdy !
Thanks !
Nice to see ya working on it again..that lil paint booth is cool..is that something you just made?
It’s a $79 party tent and the 2X4’s on the base I’m into it for $100. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
@@ThisOldHotrod sweet great idea..I need to do that
Where did you buy your "paint booth?"
I ordered it on Amazon. It’s just a cheap 10’X10’ party tent w/ removable sides.
Never much shown being done just talking....not my kind of youtube video.
thanks for being amazing !!!
People watch these videos to see how others do things not to hear about them.@@ThisOldHotrod
@@jimbo16720 I’m looking forward to learning from your videos.
I don't do videos but I do everything myself that needs done. I watch these videos for entertainment since tv hasn't had anything to watch in years. Last time tv had anything worth watching there were only 3 channels.@@ThisOldHotrod
So if you don't like the way the video is done.....don't watch.
Give me inspiration .. I have a guy Give me a complete 34 haven't seen it yet because it's winter ..🙏❤
