I went to NIT college with good merit in exam and I come from a small village with limited educational benefits. Where as my BTech mate who came from Visas steel plant (his dad is a manager in steel plant and he studied in Delhi public school). But he got 1.5lakh rank. Why does he deserve reservation purely on the basis of caste

I am posing the same question to you as I did to Madam Smita. Could you please provide any empirical evidence to substantiate your argument? Madam Smitha has outlined three special requirements to be an IAS officer in her tweet, and all of these can be accomplished by a person with disabilities. Venkatesh sir had outlined the examples of many people who excelled in various fields which required so much physical work. Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi is considered to be one of the greatest fielders in his generation in spite of having just one eye. And a swimmer will not sit in a chair. BS Chandrasekhar, did not bol while sitting in a chair.
Let me tell you that madam Smitha is currently serving as the member secretary of Telangana state finance. And that is a very much a desk job.

Madam Smitha has outlined three special demands required for an IAS officer and I can very confidently tell you that all of them can be easily accomplished by a person with disability. I will give you the example of my own life. I was born 100 percent blind. I am currently working as an assistant professor in the University of Delhi in addition to my work as a research scholar in IIT Madras. Since I turned 14, my parents stopped accompanying me to travels. I travel around the World by myself. I had recently undertaken a trip to the North Western part of Europe in order to participate in a conference. I have managed myself alone for all the seven days in three countries such as Belgium Germany and Netherlands. Let madam Smitha have a problem with the quota, but she has no authority whatsoever to question the ability of someone of whom she has no idea. Now let me come to the point of using fake certificates, it is the responsibility of the union public service commission to verify the details of the applicants. It is the complete mistake of the union public service commission that they have allowed Dr Pooja without conducting proper medical examination which they are supposed to do.

My dear friend, read the tweet of madam Smitha bit carefully. She has clearly questioned the capabilities of the people with disabilities. She has outlined three special demands for an IAS officer and she has categorically stated that people with disabilities will not be able to fulfill them. I kindly request you to have a special classes pertaining to the reservation system in India. Reservation was to provided to certain people as a reperation for the discrimination which was been inflicted by the Indian society for thousands of years. Dr b r Ambedkar himself, had to face number of discrimination in his life even after achieving so much. Let me give you a small example where Mr Ambedkar was thrown out from a rented house just because he belongs to the scheduled caste. This has taken place after he completed doctoral course in economics from University of Columbia and came back to India to work in Baroda.
We have our own example in cricket. Mr Prabhakar Balu who is probably the first recognised from India, has been subjected to the various forms of discrimination by his own teammates.

My dear friend, could you please point out to me one IAS officer with disabilities who failed in his or her duties? Mr Krishna Gopal Tiwari who secured the rank 142 in all India civil services examinationsh in 2008, has proved his efficiency. He handled the so called premium. IAS with distinction. He is currently serving as a special secretary for the social welfare in Madhya Pradesh. He was the subject of a 57 page case study conducted by a centrally funded institute. And I do not need to tell you about Ira single, who secured the first position in the all India civil services examination conducted in 2014. Even madam Smitha with the 25 years of experience, did not achieve what she had achieved as part of her IAS officer duty in the field in the very first year of her posting as a sub divisional magistrate in North Delhi. She had rescued 340 children from the shackles of a bonded labour and United them with the families.

Ira Singhal, who was the all India topper in 2014 civil services examination is serving the country with at most diligence. Krishna Gopal Tiwari, a madhya Pradesh state IAS officer has proven this. there was a case study on his functioning style conducted by a central research institute. the second point or demand she had raised is working long hours. this is not a problem to any one including the people with different abilities. thomas edison who's had a 95 percent hering disability, worked more than 17 hours a day in the nineteenth century itself. franklin Delano Roosvelt, a polio infected person ran United States of America continuesly for 12 years as its president. his tenure is coupled with world war two after which America has emerged as one of the two super powers in the world. he is one of the founding fathers of the 3 brittenhood institutions (United Nations, International monetory fund and Geneeral agreements for trade and tarifs which was the precurser to the current World Trade Organisation). our own jaipal reddy who excelled in politics is another example. he is so far receiver of the youngest outstanding Parliamentarian award. He received it multiple times. This cannot be possible without working longer duration. Sadhan Guptha, a visually impaired Parliamentarian from Madam Smitha's own state Bengal, too received this award way back in 60s. let me also tell you that the person who currently owned twitter is a differently abled. Third point she had outlined in her tweet is listening to the problems of the people with first hand and solving them immediately. this does not required physical stamina, rather it required social responsibility and strong will and a mindcet to do so. she has also made a statement that one cannot trust a surgen with disabilities. let me tell you that Dr Suresh adhvani, who is considered to be a founding father of oncology way back in the early 1970s. the entire world trusted him. even though he used a weal chair since the age of eight. he performed thousands of surgeries through out the world. He pioneered Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation in India. He is the first Indian to perform this transplantation in the 90s. I think that these examples are sufficient enough to prove that IAS can be handeled by the people with different abilities.

Ira singal, Krishna Gopal Tiwari, Manoram Sharma, Soumya Sharma are few examples of such.

She knows better than you and me about what requirements are required for a candidate to become IAS , don't do emotional blackmail to shut their mouths than expressing herself , every body feeling sympathy about handicapped people and they can fulfill in the government jobs where they are fit enough . Showing empathy or sympathy on orphans or handicapped people does not mean you can fill them where there is lot of field work is required .
Handicapped people will have suitable jobs in the government organizations where they can fulfill the duties without any complications . Rather than attacking her try to understand what she is saying.
keeping a handicapped person in a field job will not helpful to either the person or his services . Offer them a proper government job where they don't struggle and enjoy the work .

Your video is completely misplaced, Smitha has not belittled any person with disability, she is just telling why there is no reservation in other industries like airlines etc. She hasn't question their ability of doing big things in life even she knows about Stephen Hawking, Einstein etc. Why there is quota for disabled when other cadres doesn't have such thing. Even many private firms don't prioritises recruiting disabled people in their jobs where only sitting and discharging the duties are done. Certainly in her own job she has done lot of field work that's reason she questioned quota for disability. IAS cadre job includes implementation of policies, meeting people, solving issues at hand , surprise visits, some time even running business of govt. Literally everything they have to do in their department. If everything happens online then India would have developed by now.

She only asking why some industries like airlines doesn't give quota or even recruit them in the companies. Even with no reservation in many govt depts. disabled people enjoying the reservation when they can do the job easily or atleast they think can do easily. I concede they may require some help while appearing exams, interviews and discharging the duties. If they have Roosevelt like intelligence then no need of quota, you may just need more time to complete the exam but not quota.
@@Karthik-ye3ef there are 3 points that I need to address here. firstly, read the full tweet of madam smitha without leaving out a singal line. she had outlined three demands and concluded that people with different abilities could not fulfill. this is her main point. secondly, I don't think that madam smitha is aware of the facts I have presented above. she has asked a question about trusting a surgeon with different abilities. but she does not know that father of Indian oncology is a differently abled. Dr Suresh H. Advani, was one of the first oncological surgen in the country. he began this profession in 1974 3 years before Madam Smitha was born. Dr Advani is a pioneer in Hematopoietic stem transplantation. at the age of 77, he still works as an oncologist in Mumbai. he was awarded with Padma sree and Padma bhooshan by the government of India. he was the polio victim. thirdly, it appears to me that you do not have a basic understanding on the reservation system as a hole. reservation was given to certain people to uplift them from social discrimination that had to encounter from the so called upper caste people from thousands of years. in that sence, people with different abilities are the most marginalised section in the society. "guddodu, Kuntodu, Chevitodu are common word phrases across the two telugu states. if you can kindly eliminate all the discriminations within an year, then comment on the reservation kota.
