  • It's Wednesday of Ironman 70.3 Morro Bay race week! Today, I have my final swim and track session before the race, and continue to pack and talk about my racing nutrition plan. Having a solid race-fueling plan that you have practiced leading into the event into a race is so important.
    Ironman 70.3 Morro Bay is a triathlon held on California's Central Coast against the stunning backdrop of Morro Bay, California. Athletes are treated to panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean, rolling hills, and the iconic Morro Rock as they test their physical and mental strength.
    Morro Bay is renowned for its picturesque beauty and rich marine life. One of its most iconic features is Morro Rock, a towering volcanic plug that rises dramatically from the ocean, serving as a focal point for the town's skyline. This charming coastal community is cherished for its pristine beaches, perfect for surfing, sunbathing, and exploring tide pools.

    Glad you’re starting to feel better.
    Can you make a video about your sponsors. What does it take to get sponsors , behind the scenes obligations (do you need to make x amount of posts, do you need to do a certain amount of races, etc), do you feel more pressure to perform when you have sponsors, advice for someone looking for sponsors where to start. Do you get paid or is it in free products?

      Good luck this weekend
      My suggestion… (even tho you didn’t ask for one 😂) don’t use the new bike shoes even if they feel ok. The slightest difference in fit can cost you an injury being the fact you are so close to race day.
      I use the Tr9 and I love them. But every time I’ve changed shoes in the past it took me at least 2-3 months to get fully used to them

    That's a lot of caffeine! Total newbie here: I am planning on taking caffeine only during the run (figuring that's when I need the extra push the most). Isn't the effect of caffeine reduced when you take it all the time from the start of the race?

    When in your training do you add nutrition to your work outs. I was at a point while I was coached where I was using supplemental gels and powders for every session, but lately I’ve read a lot on fat adaptation and using carbs during race specific workouts only. Do you notice that FueliN has recommended supplementing carbs with most workouts?

      Fuelin seems to add carbs based on intensity and length of workout. A lot of my zone 2 and shorter workouts do not have fuel.

      Yes. I work from home a few days a week and in the office a couple days a week.
