Thanks for posting. Some internet forums say that accuracy will suffer unless you epoxy the muzzle brake. Do you have any thoughts?

Thank you for your question, and I'm sorry for the delay answering. I don't remember on this video if I glass bedded the muzzle brake to fit the barrel, but it is something I often do. This results in a "rattle-proof" perfect fit while still being removable. I have removed plenty of muzzle brakes that were glued on, and that is no problem (drill a hole in a block of wood to fit the barrel diameter, split it in half, clamp it over the barrel, heat up the muzzle brake with a propane torch, and beat it off). As for whether a tight fit improves accuracy, I doubt it. Unless the thing is rattling during recoil, I can't imagine it would affect accuracy. However, there have been guns (like Whiscombe) that have adjustable weights as a muzzle brake to "tune" the frequency of the vibration of the barrel during recoil. Those do seem to affect accuracy. Mainly the muzzle brake on guns made for mere mortals is a cocking handle for break barrel spring guns and an appearance upgrade if not, and doesn't do much for accuracy. In my opinion. This is an area that everyone has an opinion, and I don't know that anyone is right or wrong. Shoot what ya' brought :-)

A solution is to mill a piece of HDPE (high density poly ethylene) to fit in the cocking arm and protrude a tiny bit. At one time I believe www.airrifleheadquarters.com sold an already machined piece of plastic for this gun, but I don't see it on their website. It might have been someone else, but I'm pretty sure that's who it was. It might be worth writing to ask.
