The performance is incredible but each turning movement is really bad. He is loosing his speed each time. Much better to push on the wall with the head into the arms. Each swimmer, good or not, knows that.
@@musicalcreativity5121 maybe you don't understand really well. It is mot about the freediving but about swimming. The swimming technique is really bad. It you were a swimmer you should know that. This performance can be improved without any effort, unless the freediving is yet impressive.

If you were a freediver you should know that this type of turn is the one used by most monofin freedivers because it offers the best balance between effectiveness and relaxation. To push the wall with the monofin you have to do a turn which is counterproductive for contractions and oxygen consumption. Do you think that a freediver like William Joy, who has spent thousands of hours in the water to get here, hasn't thought of that? I don't understand people who comment on these types of videos giving lessons without knowing anything about it.

Swimming wise its not a great turn but free diving wise it's a clean and efficient turn
