Great video, tks 4 sharing. A quick tip: insert lead inside a nylon stocking before the bike tube in order to avoid lead losses in case of rubber opening...🤙🏻
Nice idea, except I would use sand instead of lead. It's free and not poisonous to the sea in case one may lose some. Yes, needs more volume to achieve the desired weight.
It depends on the thickness of inner tube so get that first and then measure it flat. Thinner ones are good for adding a kilo to spread weight with a belt, but thicker mountain bike inners needed for 1.5-3kg.
It's self-amalgamating rubber tape so it sticks to itself and keeps the fold good. Since I made the vid I've started covering this section with gaffer tape as well, not certain it's necessary but binds the end of the rubber tape to the inner tube nicely.
no good to increase lead pollution in the environment, better to use a heavier metal or less toxic materials with similar or greater weight equivalent.
Brilliant video, thanks for taking the time to make it.

U can use the glue from a tire repair kit if you don't want to use tape.

Great idea, may give that a go!
Grazie, ottima idea!
I will need to try this. Buy belts and then weights are not cheap.
Amazing 🙌
What size of tire did you use? 28 or thicker?
Is that a 2in buckle?
I cut it off an old rucksack, but pretty sure others I've made since I ordered 5cm for which sounds about right 👍

Thank you for the video very helpful.
What kind of tape are you using?
