      @@traciemarsh1611 I know his brother Andy. I bought Lou’s book when it came out for $60 bucks and he signed it. My son was with me and asked him for a picture, he wouldn’t do it unless I paid him another $25 for picture. I had just bought his book?? I know a lot of stories. The man sued his own family over his last name that his father gave him. This is all documented. Maybe he is getting better as he ages but I have had bad experiences with him.

      The Hulk helped promote the sport of bodybuilding. Ferrigno became a house hold name bc of the Hulk and inspired young people who may have never thought about the world of bodybuilding. Hollywood is the reason why both Arnold & Lou are the most famous names in the sport.

    • @jabari-tj9zj
      @jabari-tj9zj 5 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      @John Grygus "Hulk doesn't exist"...I can tell you're a very perceptive individual.
      Any make-believe character in a Hollywood "acting role" is fictional.
      The Hulk is Lou's most famous "acting role" which is why Shawn Ray calls Lou "The Hulk"
      Shawn Ray doesn't really believe the Hulk exists.
      Lou Ferrigno is most famous for being the "fictional" Hulk the way Arnold Shwarzenegger is most famous for being the "fictional" Terminator.
      Please try to keep up.

    Lou is trim, healthy and happy. To all of you commenting on Lou's much smaller size: Why would he want to have bulk at his advanced age? The heart doesn't care if it's fat or muscle, it still has to pump blood to it. When you're in your 60s, aerobics, being slim, fit, and taking a load off your heart are more important than being a husky muscle man. Lou in his prime was among the best of the best, he has nothing to prove. Also, lots of other celebrities sell signed photos at events, so what. Lou never got filthy rich like Arnold. He's got bills to pay too. Yay for Lou!

    I think Lou made the right choice taking the role in 'THE HULK'! He brought a lot of attention to Bodybuilding and inspired many younger adults and teenagers, myself included, to get into the sport ( for lack of a better word ). There can be only one HULK. Lou owns that title!

Heard a story that one of his fans gave him $30 dollars to take a pic of him and Lou immediately walked away but he seems cool in his recent interviews. Top man. From watching Pumping Iron it seems to me that Lou's big dream was to have spiritual freedom like Arnold had. Lou had to go a different path after 1975 and find himself and become free. I always liked Lou Ferrigno because he is an interesting character being underdog. This is a good interview, Lou seems to enjoy talking and telling his story. I like Lou's telling about his self talk after ending 12th in his comeback.

    When I was a young I had a big book of champion bodybuilders whom I wanted to grow up to look like - mainly I remember pics of Lou Ferrigno. Now when I'm older, I feel that cardio is way more important. Plenty of bodybuilders have dropped dead from heart attacks. I hope that Lou Ferrigno focuses more on cardio than on muscle-building, so that he lives to a ripe old age.

    Louie looked his best as Hercules in 1983. In his comeback in the early 1990's his stomach was big, his arms were smaller than when he was young. If he hadn't taken all that time off he might have eclipsed Arnold. Arnold always said Louie potentially had better genetics than himself.

    We all get old whether we use steroids or not

    • @rootstriker1618
      @rootstriker1618 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      exactly thats why the logical smart man stays natty when hes young and then gets on the juice when he notices his age has caught up with him and by doing that its like u buy urself another decade or so of youth lifting and overall well being an in most cases surpassing it. ;-) thats my plan anyway, oh an also a few cycles in ur mid to late 20s just to take u to that next level of muscle memory is fine an imo a good idea just dont let urself get addicted to the feeling like alot of ppl do an end up destroying there natural young hormones.

    • @NemeanLion-
      @NemeanLion- 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It all depends on what your goals are. There are PLENTY of bodybuilders much older than Lou that hung onto their size because they did a very light steroid cycle for the rest of their lives. Ferrigno seems content on staying in very good shape, but it looks like he completely gave up the juice. Which is fine for me, but his viewers are a little shocked because he was still pretty massive only a few years ago.

    • @TwinMillMC
      @TwinMillMC 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's almost impossible to maintain the same size we had in our 20's as we get older. Starting at the age of 30, testosterone levels consistently decrease and muscle mass shrinks as atrophy begins. Older dudes need to work much harder to maintain at least some of the muscle mass they had in their 20's. It's ridiculous to compare him to what he was in his 20's. The man is 66 in this video. Plus, he's 6'5" so he looks thin. The same amount of muscle mass on someone 5'8" would make that guy look massive.

    • @skidmore75
      @skidmore75 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I know what you mean as I did work out but never took any steroids. I was built pretty good even at age 70. Now since I am 87 I can see how much muscle I have lost since than. I'll be 88 next month ans still work out to keep as fit as I can. I see how Arnie has shrunk too.
