This has been a literal God-send of a video. I, like you, have always envisioned motherhood and being a homemaker and nurturer as my path. I have also killed it and climbed the corporate ladder making top scores, hitting matrixes and managing full staffs. However I did that when I was single to sustain myself and to build a nest-egg for my future destiny. When I met my husband we both agreed a mother's role is irreplaceable and I came out of work shortly after our engagement. When asked of my dreams it was always a tough conversation because I dreamed of being a SAHM and for a high achiever like myself with many accolades people often said things like "you could be anything, you could literally do anything, you have to want more." That's the thing though, if I was so great, if I was such a grand achiever then I thought what better people to serve than my family. This video blessed me immensely as I journey into my family planning stage to have confidence in my choices for my family because it's what we believe and it's my heart's desire. Your poem brought a tear to my eye, thank you for this.
Thank you so much for this sweet response. I’m not sure how I missed it. I love that you had both the drive to corporate success and also the confidence that being a homemaker is equally fulfilling and a life’s calling! Praying for you as you continue into the family planning stage of your marriage!
Your poem made me cry. I am a momma of 5. Ages 8-15 now. I MISS those nights. I miss those chest snuggles. I miss miss miss it all. Cherish it just as you are!!! In a flash they will be going to prom, getting their permit to drive and you won't know how it happened :(
I'd love to be a SAHM, i'm not religious and think women should have the freedom to do what they like (of course) but it's always felt natural to just be a mother. Unfortunately it looks to be harder and harder as life just gets more expensive :(
I wish it was easier for every mom to stay at home with the babies for sure! I am super thankful for my opportunity and totally understand and sympathize with others who can’t or don’t want to either!
