  • I made this short video as a way to tease a new BARDO Devlog, because it's going to be quite a big one. And also to apologize for my absence these past few months. It's been very hectic especially because of University taking up all of my team. But it's all good because I'm finished with uni for the year, so I'll have time to work on BARDO and catch everyone up with what I've been working on! I hope you're looking forward to the new devlog, and I hope to see you soon!

Game looks generic asf rn. Looks like you went for for a realistic style, went back to 2012, bumped up how glossy everything is, and added god awful lighting.
Truly one of the game dev moments ever.
Then again my ass has been struggling with what the fuck my art style will be for a solid 3 months

This particular example was created for this video specifically. Art direction is a key element since I am more of an artist than a programmer. Obviously the visuals are being tweaked all the time, and the end goal is to make a game that is by all means, visually stunning. I've experimented with many types of ways to create such an environment. Purely just visually speaking. I've tried all the Pipelines that come with Unity, HDRP, URP, Built in, As well as experimenting with Godot and Unreal engine. That being said, I'm confident I have a style that matches the themes and vibe I'm going for that is by all means stylized. The way I am approaching Bardo is for the style to be "low complexity, high fidelity".

@@REDSOURCE usually when i say something slightly negative to a game developer it usually gets a response like "you don't know what you are talking about, ratio, only you think that, you're wrong cause i said so." so i am very glad you're not responding to comments like that.
when i have the chance and time to watch your next devlog i will find nitpicks and issues to assist incase you don't spot some.
i got faith in you brother, do not let me down here.

For me as long as the game play is great and has a level of replayability, I don't really care if it doesn't look AAA.
      Good job REDSOURCE.....

@@MichaelH-zb8gg Appreciate it bro, I'm going for AA graphics, but yes replayability is very high on my list!
