You're the third person I've seen say this, but I'm not having that problem at all. When the camera focuses on the food, everything in the background is fine. Odd. 🤔

Don't come at me for this. I'm just wondering if I'm the only one who kinda gets annoyed how the camera focuses on and off his face, constantly making him blurry? I love his videos dont get me wrong! I just wish it wouldn't do that and focus on his face more.
I'm not seeing that, my laptop and my phone, the focus is consistently fine. There's no blurriness at all on my end. 🤔

Three other people have said that, but it doesn't seem to be a widespread issue. If any camera (I've done a lot of photography and have some expensive kit) is used to focus on a particular object so that it stands out more clearly, the background will naturally be softer, but the three of you who have mentioned it are saying that it's blurry. When they want the food to be clearly visible so that viewers can see it as if it were right there in front of them, the camera puts everything else in a softer focus in order to make the focused item stand out more. Mikey, Joel, Scott.....they all have their cameras on autofocus so that it will focus on whatever is closest to the camera and soften the background to allow maximum viewing of the food, but when the food is backed away, then the entire picture is crisp and clear. If they didn't do that, if they just set the camera up without autofocus, then they wouldn't be able to show the food because when they put the food up close, the camera wouldn't be able to focus on it, and the food would be blurry. If they just held the food normally and ate, people would be asking to see the food up close. So, that's why they do that, and the camera is focusing on what it's programmed to focus on. Maybe it's that softer focus that you're talking about? If so, it's quite normal. I hope that helps.
in this video, when he's eating the banana cream pie, he keeps moving the container up and down, and pushing it around, which is driving the camera mad 🤣
@@sarahemmons8051 yeah, I think it's what I'm talking about in the comment below, it's just the softening of the autofocus when the person wants you to be able to see the food clearly. The really good cameras do that well, and he seems to have a pretty decent camera.
