    Great video super helpful. Also another helpful tip unplug your fuel pump fuse prior to doing this then start the car let it die and start it again and it’ll just crank no fuel pressure in the systems no more

      💯 true, that way there will be no spill

  • @goodday6782
    @goodday6782 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    Always remove the gas cap before you disconnect the pump or the pressure will cause gas to spill out 👍

    I just did mine and boy or boy was it a pain getting that locking ring off and then it was a pain getting it back on. I used some WD-40 t help and I also noticed my gas was looking pretty murky as well.

    Had to change my Altima fuel pump . One advice metal on metal and hammering might cause a spark . I usually cover my chisel or big screwdriver with a rag so it doesnt create a spark and then I wack the shit out it . Got me a 18 max now love it . . Great video man . Lol almost ruined the video getting scared of fuel lol 😂 u got a sub

    Fuel pump location same for a 2020 Altima?

  • @chelle315
    @chelle315 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Lol..... anytime you work with the fuel system, remove the 15A fuel pump fuse, crank up the car and let it shut off. That will release most of the pressure.

      Should be good for a while. I started liking the maxima when they changed the body that year 09. Its a great reliable car with enough power to get you around

      So take out the fuse, remove the gas cap, and turn on the car until it turns off then disconnect the fuel pump?

    How long you need to replace the fuel bomb ?

    • @nizmo90
      @nizmo90 ปีที่แล้ว

      There’s no time limit in these parts when it goes it goes . There some signs of failing fuel pump bad fuel mileage, stuttering , when u press the gas it not as responsive as before . Easiest is to check fuel pressure in the line

  • @moneimanny375

    So is their no filter for the Nissan Maxima ? Or do I have to buy the pump ? My maxima loss power and I’ve done it all but change the filter but I can’t seem to find a filter do the maxima

    • @6starDriver
      @6starDriver  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You might as well replace the whole pump, the filter is in the pump.

    Remember this is gasoline. No power tools. And no sparks. Don't light a cigarette. Don't strike metal on metal unless it is brass. Don't blow yourself up.

    Don’t watch this! Always release the pressure before you disconnect the line. Use a brass or wooden punch to dislodge the retaining ring. Place a bucket inside the car to place fuel pump in, to keep from spilling gas in the car.

  • @ahmedsaidu-kamara6760
    @ahmedsaidu-kamara6760 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Great video. What are some of the symptoms that the fuel pump needs to be changed? Shouldn't you test the fuel pump relay first to see if it's functioning properly? Fucking Pep Boys charged me over $500 dollars to change my fuel pump and this was 10 years ago. I will be changing the fuel pump in my 2010 Nissan Maxima in the near future but I want to change my fuel filter first as it could be clogged since it's an old car. I love the car though. It was definitely ahead of its time.
