Awesome vid! Of course it comes out like a month after I get done mounting my families TV on the wall lol. I am almost positive I used that same exact mount too (or one nearly identical) and I am a big fan of it. I also hid the wires with some face plates that are the size of standard wall outlet face plates, but instead they are just a rectangular hole, that has an L shape to the back so that you can snake wires behind drywall and have it look clean. I just used 2 of those and a really nice indoor extension cord and it saved me a little time when hiding the wires. The face plate is super easy you just use the template to cut out the piece of drywall and then the piece fits in flush and the screws have fins on the back that snug it up to the drywall. Just another option for those of you who don't feel like relocating an outlet (although I have done that too and it's not much harder). I can’t believe I’ve finally reached the day I’d get excited over buying new tools.

Hey great final look with the Wifi LEDs! You said shoot ideas about entertainment center and that got me to thinking when you said “something thin”!!! What if you used glass shelving (cheap Home Depot) that was 12 inches wide and 4 to 6 feet wide and used those knobby brackets to hold them from the back. You could have 4 to 8 shelves - even staggered - and you could back light some of the glass edges to for general purpose room lighting. The entertainment center could then hold media, components, a fish tank, books, knick knacks (your regular nice stuff that you don’t know where to put) and some lights. I dressed my kitchen window this way right across the middle of it and put a fish tank there. It worked great and no dumb curtains to get greasy!
If you are going to do this with a mirror, instead if adding brackets to mount the TV, just centre the mirror and add ply round the edges to block it in. And of course secure the mirror with some Very strong adhesive
Came out great! Looks very complicated though for me to diy. How much would something like this roughly cost for a larger tv like 80” or so to have done?
Very nice job brother, I'm a union electrician and right on with your wiring. Hey if you paint the wood in the back white or even silver, where your LED tape strips are in will illuminate brighter. Beautiful job. God bless
Can't, if the wall doesn't breathe, mold will immediately set in. It would cost thousands of dollars to properly insulate the wall first. Maybe next year...
You can drill through a brick wall, but you can't fish cables through it unless you also use a chisel to carve out channels and then plaster over it when you're done and repaint the whole wall. It's just not feasible.
Dominic H. I was thinking the same thing! And on top of that I live in a 1880 town home and both sides are brick then I have one of those huge doors which slide into the wall and I can’t place my tv on it because it will mess up the value of my home.

Drywalls are so versatile for DIY projects... In Italy we don't usually use them, we prefer bricks and mortar due to the seismic activities. Loving your DIY+LED stuff!
If you want to show off your components a bit, I think that a "simple", single floating shelf would match up pretty well. Maybe with similar led backlighting? conceal your power outlet(s) for what ever boxes you'll have and run those cables into the shelf then up to the tv behind the wall so those come out behind the screen. Some in-wall or wall-mounted speakers and you get a pretty clean looking set up. Nice work, as usual, thanks!

Hey man, I dont even looking for this, but now, I want to do this on my TV! Great Work! Congrats!
With all this equipment who wouldn't want to be a carpenter? Nice job
Awesome carpentry skills! Great video!
I clicked the video because i like that barn door, it looks really cool
Those who have dislike and been disliking video like this or good video are just jealous.
To us watching this can make our life a better. Thanks
nice project. I think it might be pretty cool to put some floating shelves on either side of the Tv, connected to the wall mount. It would be pretty easy, just attach them through the back with some thick and long screws
Can we all just give this man some love , Jesus your videos are freaking awesome then to make things better he has a freaking link with instructions i tell you what
Awesome.. btw the barn door looks great too !
Another great detailed video. I did hang a tv and the bracket moved as I was screwing it. My walls in my apt do not seem to be flat. What is the best way to keep the bracket leveled? Can you also tell me the measurment equation you used to get the tv centered with the bracket. I think I'm going to try this.
Great job and good that your door doesn't slide the other way.
Thank you. Haha that would just suck
