- While out on tour opening for Blackfield as a solo artist ion the west coast, I had the pleasure of having my good friend Steven WIlson join me on stage and sing his beautiful song Even Less. Here it is as captured in LA in the El Ray Theatre.

Steven is wearing shoes! :O

Probably didn't have his stage sweeping roadie with him.
I think its photoshopped
I thought I saw his toes!
That's not Steven Wilson.
That's Steven Wilshoes.
1:08 " Hey Mr. Wilson look at the draw i made for you"
i've never heard Jordan playing that emotional...he's not overdoing it at all! it perfect!
To say that it's a Dream of mine that someone from Dream Theater and Steven wilson to do work together... Is an understatement... I had no idea this dream was a reality...
+GRAMMAR POLICE Yeah a spoken part of him apologizing for being a dick.
yeah same here. wilson should replace labrie in dt
+axlrosea675 That may seem like a good idea at first but it's actually a horrible idea when you realize Steven is way too good for Dream theater.
@@heatseeker9738 Its the other way around actually.

That goatee. I want it. Now.
I like this arrangement. I'm a huge P-Tree/SW fan and though I have never been a fan of Dream Theaters songs (not their unquestionable ability as musicians), I went to their concert last week in FL and was most impressed with Rudess' playing. He has such a cool and calculated demeanor on stage and is a true pro. Nice to see this type of collaboration between an amazing songwriter and an amazing pianist.
This is sheer epicness. God I love to see these two guys on stage performing a stream of art. And to anyone that thinks Rudess 'overdoes' it should educate themselfs a bit better. Rudess comes from a classical background and has composers like Chopin in his fingers, listen to some of his work and then tell me 'Chopin overdid it'
So agree!! Somehow mix Steven Wilson , Mikael Akerfeldt , Jordan Rudess , Geddy Lee (Rush) , Mike Portnoy..think of the drummer possibilities alone..Portnoy , Peart , Minnemann , Harrison!!...Bass choices of Colin Edwin , Nick Beggs , John Myung!!!...guitars of John Wesley , John Petrucci , Alex Lifeson , Guthrie Govan ....between these 4 bands the level of talent is tremendous ..the more they collaborate the better!
Kurt Harris I would pick tony levin for bass
Absolutely magical!
So much fluidity and emotions in the piano! Amazing version of an epic song!
One of the coolest collaborations ever! By two great heroes.
Members from two of my favorite bands... dream come true.
Absolutely Stunning performance! Speechless.
Great Song!! Great performers!! What else can we ask?
Absolutely Perfect!!
Two of my heroes on one stage... Absolutely amazing! Jordan, I love your music, man, and I love Steven Wilson's music too. It's amazing to see both of you on one stage. Keep rocking!
Wow, such a beautiful version. Piano is perfect, Steven Wilson is, well, absolutely amazing as always. Loved every second so much
Love listening to you play the piano Jordan , it’s the best best music ever.
I can't ever get over this. 2 guys from two very different and great prog rock bands! Just brilliant.
Rudess an Wilson are such a great duo! This is stellar! :)
I thoroughly enjoy Steven Wilson.
This just makes it so much better.
This is magical! I’d love to see them do some more together!
Jeeze Jordan, you love those sus 4 arpeggios man haha
@JCRUDESS His simple mind can't comprehend the wonderful stream of emotion flowing out of those fingers.
"Jesus was cruzified for doing nothing and god is worshipped for even less."
Andi R. Og demo lyrics. I see you’re a man of culture as well
I am here, I am here in 2k18
WOW!!!! Amazing performance!
My posse and I heard them rehearse this song before the Seattle show (and eventually play it). So awesome!
One word: breathtaking! Thank you so much jordan for sharing such nice footage with the world :) Best wishes from Germany :)
OH YEAH Rudess rocks the house playing that riff! SO AMAZING!
Very cool indeed! Thanks for sharing :)
This is the first time i am listening to something called "Even Less" and i am in love with the rendition...Jordan is nothing less than Magic and With Steve, its AMAZING !! Now i may or may not like the original song bcoz i like this a lot and i have listened to this first,so it all boils down to how you accept a rendition of a piece coz when u r so into that rendition, you perhaps may never want to change the way it is being played. It is great music in the end and that's all matters.
This is incredible.
Got chills just looking at the video title in the suggestions list.
2 amazing artists.
SHIIIT! This is soooo good!
Steven Wilson! You two are made for each other - seriously.
Masterpiece.......
Superb version!
Beautiful!
Something about Jordan's playing here reminds me of Howard Jones' piano style. Very good rendition of the song!
wow this song is fantastic!
Probably overdone, but love both musicians, so that makes up for it.
I have googled "Rudess vs Steven Wilson "just for fun and got this 😋😊😍Perfect 😊😊
You're amazing, dude. Love you!
that piano part adds so much to this song
Woaw absolutely brilliant
One of the wonders of the world that's going down.
this is awesomeness :D
No! I want the to perform even more!
Now play the full gigantic version :3
Love this. Hope there's more Rudess piano on the new Dream Theater album. Also, can't wait for Steve's new solo album! 2 of my favorite musicians :3
Title proposal: Dream Theater keyboardist playing Porcupine Tree song with Steven Wilson in the Blackfield concert.
2 guys from 2 of my favorite bands playing together ... throw Gilmour in there and I can die in peace!
Amazing! I want to play piano like that T_T
Really atmospheric version,JR,s brilliant..;-)
Two gods on one stage. This is fucking great!
That's wonderful! JR is new RW!
Would have loved to be there to hear that!
Great version !!
ooohhhhhhh damn EPIC!!
Maravilloso!
very nice love it! :D
Fantastic Jordan!
The entire Stupid Dream album is so outstanding. I used to love it when i was 13.
luv you Steve x
Beautiful
I FUCKING LOVE YOU, JORDAN
AND I FUCKING LOVE PORCUPINE TREE
AND STEVEN WILSON
AAAARARRAAR
Anything you do sounds great
Steven Wilson, continuing to play the guitar parts despite there being no sound at all. profesionalism!
2:00 It's not loud enough in the mix
Guys, Jordan's a classically trained piano player. Of course he's gonna add the embellishments. He can do it pretty damn well too, I might add.
Not to mention, Jordan did a hell of a job on Insurgentes and Grace For Drowning.
At first I was like "meh". But as the song continued...
Sweet mother of god, it's beautiful *.*
지립니다 ㄷㄷㄷㄷ 울나라에도 한 번 오심이 ㅠ
very nice indeed. inspiring.
I was there! Blackfield concert in LA! :-)
Awesome !!!!
I think Steven and Jordan sould play even more together...
I totally agree, and none the less, I'm a huge rudess fan and I'm aware much of his original work.
I think I'm gonna cry.
excelente simplemente excelente
awesome!!
Here after Jordan and Steven's live chat
Did someone forget to plug his guitar in???
I think this might just be a sound check. Also I realize as I'm typing that I'm replying to a 7 year old comment!
Brilliant, of course!!!...
Absolutely beautiful! Love it!
Also, I have to agree-shoes? On Steve on stage? Since when?!
Posted on my birthday woop
and this is Jordan Rudess's performance he just had Steven up to do this song so he can do it however he wants regardless of tast its up to what Jordan wants to do. And I mean there is no educating to be done, Rudess plays like Jordan Rudess that is all. And Rudess can play simpler things so dont make excuses for him, he didnt want to play simpler things.
0:22 the STEREO magic
why couldn't I have been there!?
awesome...
Wow !
Two "heavy wheights" of prog for sure. Steven is a genius and Rudess is perhaps the best living pianist in the world.
To me, Keith Emerson was, until he sadly disappeared. Jordan clearly is his spiritual son and he probably is the best today !
O_O woooooooooooooou Fantastic
just love this! so beautiful. greatings from bavaria, please come to play for us here!
@TheGlassDot Abou t Kissin: Agreed! He's an unexplainable exception but he is classical pianist and I'm talking about Rudess as a Prog Rock pianist like he is in DT! =D
Awesome
@djkikko because, i like porcupine tree because they are very simple, when you hear this and jordan rudess doing all that crazy things......well, but that is my opinion, i know there are many people who love that.
@topkho When you can play like that, changing the natural song to give it your own unique feeling comes naturally. All he's doing is making it sound even better than it already did, a lot of thought goes into the scale patterns used for fast playing, no matter if you play guitar, bass, piano, or anything else.
Dream Theater and Porcupine Tree are arguably my two favourite bands. This union is great.
And what are those things SW has on his feet?
i cant even believe it TTuTT
Sounds great. I'm a big fan of both musicians and I think this is a great song for them to collaborate on. The guitar's a bit quiet though.
jordan and steven doing a project together would be awesome... steve's awesome with PT and rudess in DT... but together? would be like gold
