Mike’s energy is infectious. He is excited about the stuff he’s selling and it makes you excited about the stuff you’re buying. He is one of the best salesman I’ve ever seen. I mean that in a good way, love watching him make deals with you.
The basement videos are becoming my favorite. The enthusiasm gets me going. Treasures and stories! "No eBay stuff"....that always makes me giggle to see how much he tries to "encourage" the eBay stuff.
I love Mike's energy and his love of the comic book and collectibles industry. I would love to just sit down and listen to his stories about the comic book industry we all love😊❤
Mike is incredible, I use to see him at the Seattle and Portland shows. Once in Portland at the Rose City Comic-Con….. I was in line He got me in for free…. I had a dolly cart full of comics to sell…. He said he wasn’t buying but he knew who would buy them. Within 15 minute I sold all the books for $2,000 and was departed the show before it even opened and the line wrapped the building. He just introduced us and told him to take of me…and he went to his booth… I haven’t seen him since …. That was about 12 years ago👍👍👍👍👍
In some ways I think when you capture peoples stories you are using a little bit of a Time Machine. I love it. But yea it would be so cool to time travel to a convention decades ago and see what you could buy.
Fascinating! Carbonaro is such an original -- a throwback carnival barker, huckster, NYC salesman. I love his energy and how everything is always for sale. I was living in NYC when he first started the Big Apple shows at the Church near Columbus Circle. Those really were the days. I built an amazing pre-code horror comic collection from going to those shows, back when you could buy high grade classic pre-code horror comics for cheap. A comic artist friend of mine and I started a small comics publishing business and we set up a booth at a couple of those shows. I remember one in particular where our booth was between Art Spiegleman on one side and the Iron Shiek on the other. Amazing times. Thank you, Mr. Carbonaro for being who you are.
Love these vids from Mike's house as always. The treasure trove of collectibles is amazing, but his personality and storytelling always make it that much better. He has so much energy and a "mind like a steel trap," as my Mom would say.
😂 this has been a great video! Mike pulling the “rabbit” outta his jacket had me rolling. Passionate guy & gets ya pumped for comics! Love these basement videos
I been watching your videos for a few weeks and love seeing you hunt around for comics its very awesome. I am building a comic collection at the moment, and this gives me inspiration.
Hey sean, have a great rummage man !wow mikes stories are great, hes so passionate about the big apple shows, dont know how you ever get any business done though ? Lol,guys so mercurial !? So high energy im jealous, lol
@@pop-comics you are right up there with him for sure! most def. interview him, and what is up with that Bklyn warehouse spot? all that inventory a shame....
Goodness Sean. That guy is a flurry of entertainment and knowledge. Legend. Thanks for these episodes... Better than a rabbit out of the hat.. A mantle out of da pocket. Seeing as how he was into Rock also and Max's Kansas City.. Could you ask him about the Ramones? Some history, memorabilia of them? He's from Queens so i just figure they connected. Im a big fan Of Maxfield Parrish too. Ever since the Hildebrandt brothers did Lord of the rings and an art teacher introduced his work to me.
5:59 - Did you already look through those short boxes with silver and early bronze Marvel stuff? You breezed thru it and saw maybe 20% of that box, by rapid flipping... I promise you that you missed something...
Take them with you to Big Mikes basement next time you are searching his enormous horde and leave them there when he is not looking 👀 so they become his problem.
Getting Convetion Flashbacks...!! Wondering why "Pop Comics' wasn't nominated for the Comic community Awards...!!Is there a way to get you nominated or too late fro this year?
Mike is high energy but I rather enjoy it. I got lots of cool stuff, a ton of trading card packs for my shop, a nice selection of vintage star wars and other sci fi toys, a box of cool comic glasses, several boxes of older comics, some judge dred magazines and books, a Frank Cho book. A stack of Golden/Atomic Age cartoon books. and a few more things. Was not cheap but the price was very fair.

Mike has been wheeling and dealing in comics since he was a kid in the late 1960s and 70s, he has so many amazing stories.
The basement videos are becoming my favorite. The enthusiasm gets me going. Treasures and stories! "No eBay stuff"....that always makes me giggle to see how much he tries to "encourage" the eBay stuff.
Haha yea I just dont want to buy expensive stuff because they is a ton of labor involved to get it sold and I just dont have that time.
Always great stuff here to see 😁
Definitely, so many fun boxes of things to look through.
I love Mike's energy and his love of the comic book and collectibles industry. I would love to just sit down and listen to his stories about the comic book industry we all love😊❤

I remember going to the Hotel Pennsylvania back in the day when I was in high school. What a show. Wish I had a Time Machine.
In some ways I think when you capture peoples stories you are using a little bit of a Time Machine. I love it. But yea it would be so cool to time travel to a convention decades ago and see what you could buy.
Mike's Big Apple cons are great! The way comic conventions should be, focused on comics!
Yeah the are my favorite shows in the city.
You can't fake authenticity : ). For us watching in TV land it feels like we are right there with you guys. Thank you.
100% And that is how I always want it with my videos, I want it to feel like you are there experiencing it.

Welcome to the channel, hunting for comics is the most fun part of collecting to me.
Lots of treasure hunting in that basement! Mike needs his own TH-cam channel!
I don't think Mike has the passion to create his own channel but I am sure he will be on video way more often.
Mike is a legend

He will have it for sale at Big Apple Comic Con, but you can contact him to list it on ebay.
It's funny how mike just throws down the comics. gets me every time.
Hah yeah he does it, does not bother me. Some people get so upset when people handle comics, its kinda crazy to me.
Mikes knowledge is incredible I worked a few of those shows man !
For sure, he has decades of comic knowledge and its amazing.

Italian & Irish family ...No WONDER he has the gift of gab...!!
Ha yup!
Lol I miss this guy I was baptized at St Paul's
He is great, you can still see him selling books and walking around at his show the Big Apple Comic Con, and other shows around the area.
5:59 - Did you already look through those short boxes with silver and early bronze Marvel stuff? You breezed thru it and saw maybe 20% of that box, by rapid flipping... I promise you that you missed something...
I was not really looking for comics to sell this trip so I passed on that one for now.
SOUJOURN was a great series... that unfortunately never finished....!!
I think I ave most of them but have not read.
I seen this dude on comic den
He sells at a ton of conventions so not surprised.
I would like to buy some comics or sports cards from Mike. Does Mike have a online store to order from?
Hey sells on ebay under the name
Mike Carbo's Comics Box
Was this store-stocking day or for-the- collection day? (Missed the beginning...!!)
A little bit of both. I did not want to go too crazy this time.
Mike is human cocaine. He needs his own show on Netflix.
That would be fun to watch.

Ebay work fatigue.
Yes the idea of listing things makes me sick
This is a movie
I do like making long content.
