This man is an absolute GENIUS! His lyrics are written from his heart and soul about his LIFE! I feel nothing but pain and frusturation for him for everything he has endured. And I commend him for NOT being a deadbeat father, for wanting so very dearly to be in Blue's life and I believe from listening to A.M.I.A. Blue wants very much to be in his life as well. Justin- believe this, there may be a long road ahead of you but eventually Blue will come to make up her own mind, untainted and pure

the sad thing is that there are dads out there that don't give a shit about there kids, but there are guys like him and thousands like us that are sick to our stomaches because we can't raise our babies, it's b.s. and the judicial system is totally flawed, i think for the child no matter what it should be 50/50 for both parents, not moms are right and f. the dads, the days i don't have them i feel abandoned and pray they don't feel the same way.its horrible.

My dad was exactly like Justin lies being told him being told he wasn't a fit parent... He died and then I found this stuff out... Shared parenting all the way! I spent the first 4 years of my life with my dad and then after they got divorced I probably only spent about a year with him... I miss and love my dad soooo much... Justin you help me get through all the hurt and pain of a 12 year old who misses my dad and is depressed and goes through things in her life that most other kids have to de

I feel for him. My uncle went through almost the exact same thing, with his wife randomly taking off to another state with their daughter, then accusing him of sexual abuse and a whole lot of other crap just for the sake of getting his parental rights terminated so he'd have to pay her child support. He didn't even see his own child for almost an entire year...But guess what? It's gets better. All her lies eventually came crashing down on her, and now my uncle has full custody of his daughter,

I am a huge Blue October fan and it is very evident he is consumed by bitterness. Lets face it, being in a band on tour all year is bound to create problems at home regardless of how great of a Dad or husband you try to be. No woman wants that plain and simple. So I would stop blaming so much and start thinking about how to make amends with your wife. True unselfishness is the only way to get your daughter back. True unselfishness is to make up with the person you hate the most regardless...

His situation is just like my dad's and my ex-stepmom. He speaks the truth. And it always gets me why child support hates on dads so god damn much.

It’s beautiful how much he has changed! On his Facebook awhile ago, he posted about how he’s glad Blues mom never let him see her because he wasn’t in a good place. He’s glad that Blue never saw that part of him. Now they are starting to have a better relationship and it’s beautiful.

Thank you to Justin for being a spokesperson for fathers like us. I dont quite have the issues of the lying ex, but I am definitley the ATM. I am broker than broke and if things dont change I will be beyond even being able to file for bankruptcy as even that wont help me. Child support laws are so unreasonable and the one size fits all rules of it dont fit all sizes. Fuck the government for interfering in my family matters. I will take care of my kids, I dont need you driving me beyond bankruptc

i hope the best for Justin and that one day all of this business will be over and done with and his daughter will see how great a father he is and tries to be. I completely agree with him--fit parents should have a 50/50 split of rights to see their children and Justin is certainly a fit parent. I hope Justin wins the rights to see his daughter whenever he wants and the judge makes someone give all that money back that's being taken out of her college fund.

I know this all to well..but I am a women. I am the Managing Conservitor but looks like not for long. I wanted shared parenting. This is killing me slowly inside. I a been diagnosed bipolar 1 (since 7/01 which is my sobriety month as well), but manage it and they are now saying I am unfit because my ex cares more about getting back at me then his own son. This fight has been more about my medical condition then getting our son peace, and serenity....when does it end..when is enough..enough!

You have a point, However, Just because he was on the road does not give this woman the right to deny him access.
Its difficult not to get a balance between the rights to fathers and his own personal story but the fact is women DO use the force of teh law and this absurd "women should be the main parent" assumption

Heartbreaking. My situation is not as bad as his and I'm thankful. No fit and loving parent should go through this. The mother has all the power when it goes to court. It should not be like this. So frustrating. It eats a father alive.

I was shocked to discover that EVERYONE very casually assumes that the child will go stay with mom after the separation and dad will get to visit if he decides to sticks around(which people assume he won't) society really did not hold me accountable . At least not to my face. Folks assume my son lives with his mom even when I explain otherwise, regularly. I'm grateful that my son's mother is a normal human. I pack up and move when mommy does. I follow her. It's the right thing to do.

@125daiz You realize that being on the road is part of his JOB and its his duty as a dad to provide for his family, just the same as a trucker or a traveling buisness man would, and their not gone ALL the time, just for sections of the year, he was busy fulfilling his duty as a man and a father.

  • @Strikerage
    @Strikerage 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I've seen so many times this situation happening to both sides. It's always the same. If dad makes money, he's an ATM machine. If he's struggling to make ends meet, he's on assistance and struggling for life.
The only time the mother gets screwed, besides having to take care of the kid (which usually occurs because she wants to work less, so having the kid means less hours of actual work), is when the dad is a complete deadbeat, on drugs, and is jobless.
it's almost as if the system is set up to screw the man in every way.

My husband made a astute observation regarding what Justin is talking about here and that is how messed up it is that here’s a man who obviously cares about his child & is a financial provider for her but is in a custody type battle and getting jerked around by a spiteful person when there’s so many undeserving fathers who dont give a flying shit about anyone but themselves. His childs mother should be doing everything in her power to have Justin be an equal parent

Out of all the deadbeat fathers and mother that walk out of their kids lives, there are actually a small percentage of parents who actually do their part and WANT to be in their kids lives, ladies, men, if your ex wants to provide for his or her kid let them because there are millions of people who dont have that and wish they could, such a backwards world.

everything is not black&white. I LOVE BLUE. and JUSTIN. But in my case my dad tried to get custody and i wanted to live with him. My mom came to his house while he was at work and basically stole me. Later on i found out stuff about my dad that i was glad my mom got sole custody but she made sure it was 50-50 or some times even seen me more. He was a amazing man just had flaws that made it where she was the better choice. But thats not what Justin is asking for and I applaud him

Although I love his music and followed the band for years, there is of course always two sides to the story. I do agree it should be 50/50 parenting however but on the road that much with a young child was bound to cause problems. Now, it is time to work on the bitter aspect and in time if she is telling numerous lies- Blue will know that later down the road.

I kind of agree that it sounds like he's trying to convince people that he is the victim, but at the same time I know what it's like to live with being Borderline, Bipolar, etc., and having people assume you're the crazy one, believing nothing you say, and believing every accusation that the real guilty person throws out. It's not easy to live with a mental illness and nobody believes anything that you say.

The victim is usually the child, not mom or dad!. Justin could never give his child 50%, his wants precede this!!.

Right on. Maybe my last sentence was a bit harsh, but it's the whole plane ticket cost that pushes his comments into the realm of sounding unbelievable. I'm sure there are truths in what he said, but he's got to be exaggerating or at the very least, not telling the complete story. And who knows, maybe he really believes what he's saying is true.
