What a cool adventure! When you first mentioned it, I thought you would be with a guide. How cool that you maneuvered the boat yourselves. What a great job. I love the little towns along the way. Thanks for doing these adventures.
Amazing video! Thank you! Kinda got home sick because we are from the Upstate NY area, Jordan Elbridge (Syracuse). So many people don't realize how beautiful NY state is. We live in Florida now, but will be moving back eventually. Love that you shared this!
Ok the LuckCharm video bit with your daughter was almost as good as Shelia pulling the chicken head off. Brought tears to my eyes (again). Thank you for sharing
Thanks for sharing your adventure. I was the one looking to catch up with you at Hickory Hill while you were doing this. Hopefully we will cross paths again sometime. 👍🏻
We really enjoyed this. They use to be in Troy NY and we saw them often. We used to live in Troy NY and loved the Hudson River and went to the Waterford Locks A lot. I believe the Wiles from Skaneateles started this. We live in Baldwinsville NY now. We live near lock 24. One of the busiest locks in the system. Thanks for sharing this.
Great video! Loved you boating on the Erie Canal. Nice you can go to these real cute towns. You can go grocery shopping and go to out door concerts. Now that’s fun. That was funny with Lucky Charms. 😂😂 I used to eat Lucky Charms.
We did a house boat for 1-week in Central Fl 3-couples. We all rotated breakfast, lunch & dinner. So one couple cooked, another did dishes, and the other relaxed. Swam in springs, fished, canoed. Had a great time...👍👍👍👍
@@SwitchItUpLifeWe been working on a large home project 3/4 done 👍👍👍👍. We did a Grand Canyon and Yellowstone trip last month. We been just traveling around Fl. Till this fall. ♥️🥰
"Go big or go home". Shelia did exactly that on designing the new Space Craft home. It's big! With older age and medical changes, my love of Lucky Charms has moved from a breakfast staple to a rare treat. I eat more plain charms now (aka cheerios😅). So many great little towns all over the USA
There is a museum call the old Erie Canal heritage park on 90 in NY heading east that has an old lock and a great historical building with lots of displays and some original buildings a short walk out past the lock
How wonderful to see your video in “our neck of the woods”. I saw your IG post that Sunday you were in Brockport. I was really hoping you were headed more west to the Medina basin to travel through our village. Our house is right on the canal a block from the lift bridge. When we hear horns at the tower, we know the bridge is going up and look to see what is going down the canal. The kids would run to ride the bridge up 😊 Did you happen to share the waterway with the barge/tug that was pushing the Ralph Wilson Park bridge (made in Italy and traveled the Erie Canal from the Hudson River) that was headed to Buffalo? Or maybe the empty barge headed back to Albany area. It was probably the biggest thing I have seen on the canal .. it was massive!!! It was a great video as another way to switch it up 😉
Wow, what a small world. There is an RV park right next to where you got the boat called Red's Twilight on the Erie. We spent a month there in the summer of 2023. We drove past those boats all the time.
@@SwitchItUpLife well if you get back up around here in the future let us know. There's some other cool unique things around here we can show you! Safe travels!!
That was awesome!! We did similar up at Voyageurs national park. No little towns but you got to pick any spot you wanted to dock for the night. Houseboat was so cool but mattresses. Ugh
Wish I knew you were going to be in Brockport, New York. We live here and only 2 seconds from the canal we must have missed you at the market. If we'd have known you were there, we could have picked you up and taken you to church with us.
We think another day or so would have been good - so many neat towns to explore and knowing Magda you all would explore more than we did so I think you would probably like a few more days to do that
Looks like a fun way to travel. You may have mentioned it already, but why do the two of you drive separately? I get that you need a 2nd vehicle but why wasn't it a priority to have it incorporated into the rig like others have done??
If you go more than once... do you have to go thru the training again? If you already have your Captains license do you have to go thru the training as well?
There were some people there that had been on the trip before - they had to be there for the orientation but not sure they went through the boat training again
Ok, I have a ? but, 1st I LOVE your content. How do you get away with so much music in your videos? I seem to get a Copyright issue if there is even a breath of what I assume is copyright music.
@SwitchItUpLife Thank you for the reply...I use epidimec sound as well. I was referring to the street music at the market and jazz music by the canal. Just really curious not trying to start anything. Thanx again...Will
@@WillsWheelsit’s all good - never thought you were trying to start anything 😊 if the music is coming from a radio and it’s the original artist then we don’t play that - but if it’s a band doing a cover song we usually don’t get hit with anything because it’s not the original artist- if we really want that piece in there and we do get a copyright we just select to not monetize that video.
@sheilakonitzer2109 Thank you so much for explaining in that detail cause it helps a lot. Cars shows have DJ's playing music but, it's usually the original version and artist....explains a lot. Thanx again...Will

I've dreamed for years of cruising the Erie canal. I didn't know this excursion was available. Now I have a first mate to convince. Thanks guys.

What an awesome adventure!! That would be so much fun.
Looks like soooooo much fun! You guys are so brave!❤
Wow, I would need to bring a thermos or small coffee pot. Unsure if I could do a leisurely walk for coffee and breakfast? Very interesting ! 🖖🏻😘👍🏻🙏🏻
That looked so fun ! I will say if my daughter did that with my Lucky Charms ? There would be alot beeps in this video.😂

Talk about pillow hair!!😂😂 You really need to run your fingers through your hair at least! Nice little town. Enjoy!

Your idea for this trip Went from weird to amazing…nice when adventures work out that way, huh?
Absolutely! It was a great experience

Makes me laugh. I live just outside of Pittsford. And never you could rent one of those boats. You ate at my favorite BBQ place. Love it there.
No way! What a great town you have

This was So Cool, the Erie Canal boat “camping “ is definitely on my bucket list! Love you guys. Blessings on your trip journey.
Being a longtime boater, I would love to do that
I just can't go slow!
Well you would not like this then lol slow is the only option 🐢🐢
Very cool adventure!
Yeah man don't mess with the best part of lucky charms, or be prepared to be shackled to housework for 60 days n 60 nights 😂. 🍻
You got that right!
You need to visit Saratoga Springs, Lake George etc. Saratoga Springs in August for thoroughbred and buggy horse races too and oh so much more!!
Thanks for the tips
What a great way to spend 4 days!! Looks like a lot of fun!! Todd was a good Skipper and Shelia was a great 1st Mate!!
It was a cool experience for sure
Looks pretty relaxing but that felt good.
It was!
What a great trip! I also did not know these were available in US. Added to the list!
What a cool thing to find here in the USA

We did not run into any barges just a couple other boats and some fishermen- we didn’t go that far west ran out of time but sure was fun

Hi from the Bimber's, that looks like something we would enjoy also
What price range are we talking?
Hey there 👋👋👋
Thanks
I've been trying to talk my family into doing the canal trip. Bringing our E-Bikes with us to use when you stop at little towns along the way.
That was an awesome adventure.

The size of the beds - they say you can sleep 2 couples - but I’d say not sure about that!

A few unexpected things this vid. Didn't know the Erie canal had been redeveloped, and wasn't expecting a Family Guy clip. 😂
I'd love this trip. Is four days a good time or would you have liked to go a few more days?

How was Internet access while on the canals?
Some towns had free WiFi when we pulled up to dock for the night- others I had to use my phone hotspot to connect - but it wasn’t horrible
