Beautiful stepback, and very unusual with its cave setting. It draws you in both literally (through the image) and figuratively. The story sounds fascinating - passion, sacrifice, intrigue and risk - a mix of ingredients that piques interest and makes you want to discover these characters. The artwork is gorgeous. I like that the cave lends itself to the idea of shelter and seclusion from the whipped waves and darkening sky - but it also seems invitational... coaxing the characters on a journey into something new and deep, something that will change them and transform them. A cave naturally evokes exploration, the kind that presents the possibility of both danger and wonder. A lot like love, no?
It's his shirt, wow! It also gives mermaid or smuggler vibes. The rainbow on the cover is lovely, as are all the blue and green shades of the sea in the cave. ❤

I have two copies of this book. My foiling is coming off on both books but on one book the foiling has not come off on Mary Jo Putney’s name. I loved reading this book, such a great love story!

I like how the foiling has worn down. It's very evocative in a way; like could a book designer do that purposefully?
