  • Welcome back to our Victorian Terraced Renovation in East London! Things have been slow but I'm back to show you around the loft, blast through the finishing jobs to get the loft plastered, and talking you through our FINAL decisions on the bathroom.
    We're also nearing the start of our kitchen extension meaning we need to get started on the messy and confusing job of moving our drain and thinking about foundations.
    Finally, we tackle the big slab of concrete that's slowly falling through our ceiling and I'll talk you through how we keep stress levels low with our renovation Gantt Chart.
    Hope you enjoy - and as always - don't forget to subscribe!

      Love the video! Great tip with the Gantt chart too 😊 I have questions for the video, where are you both from? And how have you managed the balance between your jobs and the renovation? X

    It's so satisfying when you make a Reno list and you tick each item off. It's such an achievement. Even if it's small like fit a curtain pole.

    Questions for the q&a - How did you decide on location, and what did you look out for in house viewing etc? How did you find the process of home ownership?

    I know the feeling of living/sleeping/working in one room in the house 😅 You did a great job so far, I'm looking forward to seeing the bathroom!

      It will all be worth it in the end! The perk of only one room is that there is a lot less cleaning to do than an ENTIRE house 😂

    Have you checked the beams that run towards the fire place concrete hearth ? As these might have been structurally supported by the concrete which was supported by the chimney breast, now these have been removed I fear they are no longer supported. Might want to brace the old beams with new beams so they can sit in the brick wall.
    Or onto joist hangers off a beam flush to brick wall which is supported by existing beams that haven’t been effected. Basically double check those beams are structurally safe! Keep up the work, it’s looking good 👍🏼

    Its amazing you done so much of the reno yourselves but are now looking for a tiler - that is probably one of the easiest jobs to do yourself!

    During the heat wave I started work (the quiet stuff) at 6am and slodged during the midday before picking back up during the evening.
    Be careful of having too many spot lights where you need a ladder to change a lightbulb after having to move furniture etc. All my lights are now at tip toe level for bulb changing.

      Smart stuff - we always waste time in the morning and regret it in the midday heat!
      Very smart - I will keep that in mind when planning - thanks Jules!

    We're in the process of starting our loft, back and side extension so really interested in seeing how yours is progressing.

    would you recommend a airconditioner for the loft given it is the hottest room now

    • @FeedbyAutumn
      @FeedbyAutumn  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If it’s well insulated it should stay cool during the hot months - we will find out this summer 😂

    Did you have to get permission to do that manhole work?

    • @FeedbyAutumn
      @FeedbyAutumn  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes as it was a public sewer we got a build over agreement. Thames water are usually fine with your proposal. Annoyingly we need to replace with clay pipe which is a bit more tricky to source than usual
