- I made a very small tweak on Love In Itself bell ; just increased the fm modulation
- Master and Servant ''bass 1'' ; I made some tweaks on the original preset '' phased gong '' which is also the famous ''MJ Beat It '' intro gong - เพลง

Excellent! - When I got and used the synclavier V I realized many DM sounds that many thought were DX7 or even sampled were actually the synclavier that they used!
Thank you! Yes Synclavier was a major part of their studio recordings in 1983-84-85 , cheers!
Well you could sample with the synclavier too.
@@the_tux yes I was originally referring to the FM type sounds but yes, the synclavier was DM's main "DAW" and sampler from around 83- 87 , even though they were using the emus a lot - nothing else had such 16 bit clean samples at the time , which is probably why the synclavier was so expensive.

Well the other day I downloaded these facotry presets of Synclavier, and it was fun to recognize some of those famous sounds of Depeche, but in general the Synclavier original factory preset library is not the greatest , especially when thinking that this actual machine was very vey expensive in its time..
@@synthof indeed, expensive but im sure the original sounded clear but in those days post multi effects were the norm. Every synth was pretty much dry with some exceptions... great pick up with your keen ears.

Where can I find that "dm lie to me lead oboy" preset please? I've downloaded and imported timbers from dropbox, but only the original "Oboe" preset is there. 😢 It sounds so great🔥

Can someone please tell me what sound that was used for the intro and through the song“lie to me” by Depeche Mode?
Thats not easy to say; I re-created it , almost nailed it , it should be an fm synth sequence from an fm synth like Synclavier or Yamaha Dx7 or a manipulated factory sound from another source , maybe a pick bass etc

They actualy using more a PPG Wave for some sound and Emulator 2 note sure about synclavier maybe in studio only.
Emulator 2 and PPG Wave were used both live and in studio , but Synclavier was used only in Studio and especially during the recording of 1983 Construction Time Again- 1984 Some Great Reward and 1986 Black Celebration. Ive read some interwiev on the web earlier that Alan Wilder saying most of the sounds heard on Some Great Reward LP were generated from Synclavier. It was a diffcult machine to use according to them , but worth it. You can type on Google search '' DM sample source'' you will find a link of dmlive.wiki, features very interesting details of what gear and sounds DM used in 80s

@@synthof FYI, it's not there anymore. I went to the Facebook page, subbed and scrolled all the way to the beginning. No sign of them. I also checked the "files" and "media" tabs and they are no longer there. Does anyone know of another source to find these factory timbre discs? I GOTTA have that Master & Servant bass #2... Thanks!!
