- In this puppy training session, Uncle Stonnie is demonstrating how we teach Labrador Retriever puppies to fetch and explaining why we like to use the Inductive retrieve method to build strong foundations.
The inductive retrieve is an awesome way for novice trainers to learn to express their expectations and motivate puppies to meet those expectations!

Stonnie Dennis: Labrador Retriever Salesman of The Year!
An important key to Stonnie's success with these dogs is that his expectations match the potential of each dog's current abilities. Set your goals too high and YOU won't end on a high note, so your dog may not end on a high note. Understanding that your dog likes to eat more than he likes to retrieve is an important piece of the puzzle. Every one of these dogs are great, it's our job to choose the right dog to live within our expectations. It's always such a joy to watch these dogs strive to please Stonnie, and Stonnie is pleased with each dog's improvement and makes sure each dog knows it. 30 years ago I'd be wanting that high drive dog. Today, I'm liking those laid back chubbies. LOL
When I started my dog training for competition it was only force training. I never thought that agility would relax them for learning
I would have a play session. Have been successful but this gives the dogs a relaxed position for rewards to look forward to. Bravo 👏 ❤ thank you
Energy is everything amd your energy is your superpower with dogs,, there are dog men and then there are men with dogs,
I came across your channel today....love it....i just got a 8 week old golden retriever
Just if I got to be reincarnated, I want to come back as a black Lab at blue grass
I am sure I WAS a black lab in a previous life 🤣
Thank you for your encouragement!🙏🏼
Where did you get your dumbbell? I want to start training my two German wire hairs this technique. Thanks
Good one.
Can labs be trained in personal protection to some degree?? You've made me want a lab. Because of their versatileyness
In my experience with labs, they will bark when someone enters their property, but that's more excitement than suspicion. Labs are friendly to strangers, so in my experience they are no good for protection work. But like I said, they will alert you when someone enters your property, it's just you who has to do the protection instead of the dog.
Stonnie I live in NC 60 miles north of Charlotte do u know any good breeders in my area of field bred labs black
Great video as usual but I’m too distracted by that perfectly striped yard in the background!
Thank you!
Anyone on here that breeds field bred labs in NC close to Statesville nc or hickory nc
👍🏽
You don’t be able to look up anything you do 😂
And just like that, the pathetic troll comes back begging for attention…Why don’t you post some links to your operation for us?
@@StonnieDennis 😂 u teaching people the retrieve in ur obstacle course again. Where would you be without the course I mean really. I want you to try that shit in an IGP trial. They laugh you off the trial
I show people what I do at work. As far as IGP trials go, out of the few people in the world who do that “sport”, which one of them do you think would laugh at anything I do? Who do you know, who does IGP, that has a nicer setup than mine?
Show us some videos of your work and your facility so we can see how it makes mine seem funny.
@@StonnieDennis I still love you as a person don’t worry . Besides dog training i know ur a good father and a provider for yours and that i respect. I call it how I see it.
You really don't call it like you see it unless you are an absolute moron. I'm one of the few people on TH-cam who actually takes very complex concepts and breaks them down for novice dog trainers. I don't use stock footage, I don't steal other people's content, I don't make fake shorts, and I don't talk about things outside my areas of expertise.
Take these videos for instance, I don't sell retrieving as part of my dog training services and I know these videos require too much work and attention to get any traction in the TH-cam algorithm, but I make them anyway because I think it's important for the dogs, important for the novice trainers, and important for the industry as a whole.
I'm one of the few, genuine, professional kennel operators on TH-cam and people like you, who lack the experience and knowledge to even understand what I'm doing, jump on here make idiot level comments.
I honestly don't know what's worse, fake TH-cam influencers peddling nonsense and shilling for electric collar companies or ungrateful, negative, commenters like yourself.
Excellent training series and concepts!
