There are minor differences used on the Electrification that the Woodhead Route used and that that is still in use from Manc Picc and Hadfield/Glossop the electrification that was used at the time the line was a "Through Route" was 1,500 V DC the infrastructure was modified when the Class 506s finished in the mid - late 80s it is now 25 kV AC Electrification

i do plan on walking over that section next year when it’s not wet
