Best indoor coop for silkie chickens!

- We had so much fun creating this indoor coop for our rescued silkie roosters! Furnishings by IKEA. Moose and Mumble are residents of the House of Nubs (www.houseofnubs.org)
Please note: these chickens have special health conditions so they cannot live outside 24/7. They also have an amazing outdoor area, and get plenty of sun and outdoor time every day.
This is how I imagine myself when I get old, having a couple of silkies and treating them like my children, so cute

I have silkies. That room got covered in shit in minutes guaranteed. Chickens poop every couple of minutes

@@moviebites9570 babies you keep in a brooder indoors. They will begin to smell after a few weeks even with daily cleaning and need to be moved outdoors weather permitting. They poop constantly even in their sleep. This video is very cute but obviously just for entertainment not a realistic example

They are beautiful, I have a rooster and a hen, my rooster Hootie is so smart he knows his name I yell Hootie and he comes a running I got them as chics they are 4 months old they are my babies.

@@ivyajpw2981 The silkie hens are a little bit different. The male keep the chest and neck up like the shape of the letter S.
While the hens are more horizontal line from the neck to the tail.

Aww so cute! I'm going to buy silkie chicken chicks but I have to move first, no pets allowed in my building. I'm pretty sure even after soundproofing, my apartment will sound like a farm. Also I would not want to get rid if I had a rooster, it wouldn't feel right, so I'm waiting to buy a house, hopefully within 3 months. Im in love 😍🤗😍

We sweep and mop daily, and they wear diapers. They are both trained therapy animals. 😊

Those are 2 beautiful silkie roosters.
Just head to McDonald's, Wailuku, Maui,Hawaii. There is a whole flock of them. Mostly mixed breed, but they are adorable. I had never heard of them, so I was calling them feather foot.hehe. then I moved to a house where my neighbor has three of them. Whenever American chickens try to move in, he traps and relocates them. The McDonald's flock is the only big group of feral Silkies I've seen on the island. They are so fun :)

I want an indoor pet hen so bad but I know they need to have some outdoor time too and I'd be afraid my neighbour may snitch on me as I already have two dogs (on the lease) a cat and a lizard...
I'd reccommend replacing the bed mattress with hay and make sure the covers are easy to wash. Unless you're confident in potty training them, they'll make a mess!
